Two weeks ago, The Undertaker laid out NXT superstar Bron Breakker with a brutal choke slam. While several fans appreciated the segment, some believed that the veteran taking down the latter made him look “weaker.” Addressing this particular segment, Teddy Long claimed that the confrontation with Taker was the best thing that happened to the rising superstar.
Wrestling journalist Bill Apter highlighted that the Phenom choke-slamming Breakker buried the latter. However, WWE veteran Teddy Long offered a different perspective on the segment. The 76-year-old explained that Taker was taking down the young superstar rather than establishing him as a potential top guy.
What Undertaker did to him wasn't to kill him, what Undertaker did to him was to establish him and let everybody know, "This is the guy", that's why the choke slam came in, that was his initiation, not to kill him.Expatiating on the segment, Long said on The Wrestling Time Machine podcast
The veteran strongly asserted that the segment did no harm to the 25-year-old but instead made him look very strong. The Undertaker appeared on the October 10 edition of NXT. The WWE legend came out in his American Badass avatar to confront Bron Breakker. The Deadman told the latter that he was going to be a special talent someday, but not just today. He then obliterated the former NXT champion with a jaw-dropping choke slam to close the show.
Teddy Tong names Bron Breakker as the potential candidate to retire Brock Lesnar
After his return to WWE in 2012, Brock Lesnar has indeed established himself as one of the top draws in the wrestling business. The 46-year-old has etched out an illustrious career for himself, with numerous accolades in his name. However, every fairytale has an end at some point. Speaking of Lesnar’s retirement, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long named Bron Breakker as the ideal superstar to conquer the beast.
Furthermore, Teddy Long entertained the idea of Bron Breakker being the guy who eventually retires the Beast Incarnate.
Steiner’s kid has got a great-looking body. That kid looks really good and he’s a good worker. I’ve seen him work in the ring, so yeah, that’s not a bad idea.via Inside The Ropes
Appreciating the rising superstar, Long noted that Bron has a brawny physique and is a great in-ring worker. Thus, the 25-year-old receiving the honor of being Lesnar’s last match in WWE is not a bad idea, per Teddy Long. The young superstar recently got the rub from The Undertaker as well, indicating a bright future for him on the main roster.
