Teddy Long is a WWE icon. He is well recognized for his work as the Smackdown General Manager, which was more of a humorous position for him than a serious one. People liked seeing him because he brought a completely new spirit to the arena.
Teddy Long recently spoke with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s “One on One” on how Vince McMahon reacts to guys gaining weight in the industry. He said that weight was something Vince was very conscious about and that everyone was weighed every week.
Superstars who were overweight had their names put down on a list that went all the way back to Vince McMahon. Vince then approaches the wrestler or WWE employees and inquires as to the explanation for the dramatic shift in weight. Teddy Long’s scale was also increased, which is why he knows these things first hand.
Teddy Long said, “I mean, some days you’d go to TV there, and he’d have a scale. They’d already have a scale-out, they’d weigh everybody, and then they’d write your name down and take that list back and give it to Vince. I weighed one day and I think he comes back to me, and he was right because I was messing around and I’d put on a little bit, and he came right back to me and told me, ‘Hey, you’re putting on a little bit of weight there.'”
Teddy Long comments on Randy Orton

Randy Orton has been in the WWE for a long time and has carved up a great career for himself. He still hopes to wrestle for another decade, but he suffered a devastating injury in recent months that might terminate Viper’s career.
In the same interview, Teddy Long remarked on the situation, saying that the Viper should think about what to do following the injury. Randy, he believes, should avoid participating in other people’s conversations and should prioritize his health over anything else.
Teddy believes that the appropriate decision should be made rather than one that is imposed on him or anything. We’ll have to wait and see if Randy Orton will return for the in-ring competition or if the legend slayer will retire completely.
