Hollywood’s renowned star, Jeremy Allen White, shared in a recent conversation with Chris Van Vliet what fascinates him the most about pro wrestling. His answer garnered mutual appreciation from all wrestling fans. White will be playing the role of a real-life pro wrestler, former Intercontinental Champion Kerry Von Erich, in the upcoming film The Iron Claw.

The actor talks about how everyone thinks wrestling is fake, but there’s so much to it. Jeremy worked with Chavo Guerrero in the film, and after working with him, he looked at pro wrestling from a different perspective. He shared his experiences working with Chavo and also revealed that athleticism and the broader aspect of pro wrestling fascinate him.

Jeremy talks about his understanding of the storyline aspect after working on the movie in the clip shared by Deadline. He revealed that he had held the notion that wrestling is just choreographed fight scenes. However, after working with Chavo on his upcoming film, The Iron Claw, his perspectives have changed significantly.

The athleticism in the sport is like, it's like dance, gymnastics, combat sport. It's like so many things,  What struck me in working with Chavo and preparing was like, I was thinking about it in the sense of like, a choreographed fight scene... I wasn't thinking of it in the sense of a full performance, a full narrative, full storytelling.

Many fans praised Jeremy for his understanding of pro wrestling and how it works. His upcoming movie The Iron Claw is based on a true story, and it will explain the “rise and fall” of the Von Erich family. Kevin was an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the Von Erich family in 2009.

The Iron Claw is based on a true story of the rise and fall of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day. Zac Efron will play the lead role of Kevin Von Erich. Harris Dickinson will portray David Von Erich, while Holt McCallany will play Fritz Von Erich. Moreover, Maura Tierney will be shown as the family’s matriarch Doris, Lily James as Kevin’s wife Pam, and Jeremy Allen as Kerry Von Erich.

Moreover, this movie also includes the current AEW World Champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, playing the role of Lance Von Erich. He was not a part of the original family, but Fritz Von Erich was adamant about including him as a Von Erich, much to the dismay of Kevin and Kerry Von Erich.

The upcoming movie will depict the rise and fall of the Von Erich family in the wrestling world. Forced into wrestling by their father, five out of six siblings suffered untimely deaths, with three being suicides. Scheduled for release on December 22, 2023, the film tells one of the most tragic stories in wrestling history.
