“You have to master the business before you can transcend it.” Madcap Moss reflects on valuable advice given by The Rock
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is a former wrestler turned actor who is widely considered by many as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. The Rock after working with the WWE for 8 years decided that he wanted to pursue a career in acting and parted ways with the company. The People’s Champion made his debut in acting while still being wrestler when he appeared on ‘The 70’s Show’ in an episode named ‘That Wrestling Show’. The Brahma bull made his debut in Hollywood in 2001 starring in The Mummy Returns and later appeared in the sequel The Scorpion King. The Rock would go on to appear in many movies and shows which include The Rundown, Doom , Get Smart to name a few.
The Rock’s first major boc office success came in 2011 when the Great One appeared in the fifth instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise portraying the character Luke Hobbs. After his first major hit The peoples champion went on and starred as Roadblock in G.I.Joe : Retaliation and also reprised his role of Luke Hobbs in the 6th instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise. In 2013, Dwayne announced that he would be an executive producer on the show Ballers in which he played a role as well. Later that year he was named as the highest grossing actor by Forbes which was a result of Johnson’s movies grossing $1.3 billion worldwide.

The Rock with his time away from WWE has still managed to return to the company quite a few times for appearing Wrestlemania’s to open the show and sometimes also for wrestling. The Brahma Bull has been an inspiration for budding wrestlers over the years. Madcap Moss is one such wrestler who considers The Rock as his role model. Madcap Moss in a recent interview with “The Power Trip After Party” revealed the advice the rock gave everyone who are wanting to be actors :
“[The Rock] came and talked to a group of us one time and someone asked him about being able to go beyond WWE and get into Hollywood and get into acting,” Moss said. “[The Rock] said, ‘We should all want to transcend the business. We should all want to be that big of a star, but you have to master the business before you can transcend it.”
Madcap Moss recently ended his feud with Happy Corbin and his looking move ahead in his career. The Rock with his success in the ring and as well as in Hollywood has left a blueprint for many wrestlers to follow.
