The Rock and Cody Rhodes on Raw [via- WWE]
It was supposed to be CM Punk‘s night on Raw this week. But there was absolutely no preemption that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would blow the roof off the Allstate Arena last night. He interrupted Cody Rhodes, and the 15,000-strong wrestling haven came unglued. The Final Boss took that long walk down the aisle. He then went on to have a lengthy no-talk staredown with Rhodes.
Neither of the two took their eyes off each other. In the meantime, the PLE-esque Raw ambience let both of the Superstars know how much they were enjoying. Chants of “Holy Sh*t” rang out as they soon morphed into “this is awesome.” Minutes into basking in the adulation of a packed house, The Great One tied his arms to the back and whispered something in Cody Rhodes‘ ear.
The immaculate camera cut made it almost impregnable to intercept what The Rock had uttered. Nonetheless, whatever it was, it sucked the wind out of Cody’s lungs. Unlike what he has done for the past month, The People’s Champ didn’t ask for a microphone to drop some gospel on his arch-nemesis. Well, maybe that’s how Dwayne wanted it to be.
Backstage, when Raw correspondent Jackie Redmond asked The Brahma Bull to shed some light on the conversation, Rock asked her to approach The American Nightmare instead. When she did reach out to Rhodes, he feared he couldn’t reveal the exact wording. Dusty Rhodes‘ son proclaimed that the Hollywood actor made a promise he couldn’t keep.
The Rock’s heinous assault made Cody Rhodes bleed to close this week’s Raw
Everyone knew that The Rock was set for next week’s Raw in Brooklyn. And last night’s appearance came out of the blue. But what transpired during the last 8 minutes of the show was unfathomable.
While Cody Rhodes was teeing off with Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa backstage, The Rock entered the fray. He rag-dolled Cody left and right.
After toying with The Prodigal Son indoors, Johnson then drove Cody’s carcass under the night sky, where it was pouring down. The TKO board member turned the heat on with his relentless assault. That eventually busted Rhodes open.
Rock took out his weight belt with Mama Rhodes written over it, and he wiped Cody’s blood to send a direct message to the former AEW EVP’s mother. The Final Boss kept dropping numerous F-bombs while intensifying his barbarity.
