After his last match at WrestleMania 36, Taker was going to announce his retirement at Survivor Series 2020 in the grand ceremony. However, there was a little argument between the two, as Vince wanted Taker to still stay in the character and didn’t want him to use the word ‘retirement’.

In November, that was one of those times where Vince and I butted heads. My retirement. He wouldn't let me say retirement. 'It's time for the Undertaker to rest in peace.' In full character. I have all these guys, in the ring, but I'm going to be in my full character. It was like, yuck.
