WWE Legend The Undertaker was one such character in pro wrestling that was quite popular among fans for its uniqueness. Taker has maintained “The Deadman” persona for decades and it has etched its place in the hearts of the fans. However, a wide section of the WWE Universe has been desolated ever since Undertaker chose to step out of that character following his in-ring retirement.

In a recent episode of his Patreon podcast, Six Feet Under, the WWE Hall of Famer admitted that many fans are still upset with him. As reported in the Metro UK, he expressed how many are happy to see him do his talk shows. The Undertaker revealed that, on the other hand, fans have been accusing him of ruining their childhood by not keeping kayfabe alive.

The Phenom explained how he is not talking about dead souls anymore, which makes people feel that he is tampering with their childhood memories. Needless to say, The Undertaker has maintained his on-screen persona for decades. As a result, fans are having a hard time accepting the real man that lies behind that character.

There are still a large group of people who are really upset with me because I don’t talk about taking souls and I’ve kind of opened up, to the point where people have accused me of ruining their childhood.

It has been a challenging time for Taker ever since he hung his boots in 2020. He has trusted the fans to show a side that he has protected for 30 long years. He has also admitted how he wishes he could still go into the ring. It seems that the Phenom is open to letting the fans understand the man, Mark William Calaway, who upheld one of the most beloved wrestling characters.

The Undertaker recalls about the time when he argued with Vince McMahon about the American flag

Over the years, fans have witnessed the trust Vince McMahon has expressed in The Undertaker. The Deadman has been a staple product of WWE for more than 20 years and has headlined several WrestleMania. However, their relationship also had ups and downs.

In his recent conversation with Sports Illustrated, The Phenom explained how he once argued with the current WWE Executive Chairman. It was regarding his idea of unfurling the US flag on his jacket, back at Survivor Series 1993.

I wasn’t thrilled about that. That was all Vince. At the time, in 1993, adding the flag was not Undertaker-esque. I remember me and Vince going back and forth. It was one of those first things we really butted heads over. I still remember Vince trying to sell me.

The WWE legend believed that his character was all about being a scary entity and it would seem absurd to show support for the American flag. For those who don’t know, the Phenom was a part of the All-American Team that featured Lex Luger and the Steiner Brothers. He had to show support for Lex by unfurling the flag. He eventually did it, as he couldn’t stand up against Vince at that point.
