2024 is going to be an important year for the Stamford-based company. Several prospects await in the form of shiny television deals and contract expiration of superstars across the globe. It seems WWE doesn’t want to let go of its bigger talent as WWE and Cody Rhodes are said to have engaged in a conversation about a multi-year contract extension.

Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select how since the formation of the TKO Group, the American Nightmare has been seen as a major player in the company. Rhodes would be a monumental re-signing for the company. What further made it interesting is that Rhodes had already inked a new deal last year and modifications coming to it after a year signify the growth of interest in the former Intercontinental Champion’s prestige.

However, no terms of the contract have been revealed. It is expected that the former Royal Rumble winner could get a sizable raise. Rhodes also bought a new bus for himself during Thanksgiving which led to speculation. Many believed that it was another way for WWE to get him to sign the extension.

On the work front, fans saw Rhodes engaged with the Japanese Star on Monday Night Raw. Shinsuke Nakamura has been a menace to the Red Brand’s roster and has seemingly displayed his interest in tarnishing the uncrowned locker room leader, Cody Rhodes. It would be interesting to see how their rivalry unfolds in the upcoming weeks.

WWE is on a contract extension spree

The reports of Cody Rhodes getting his contract extended in the grandest ways possible have led to a lot of speculation about the general functioning of the Stamford-based company. Fightful Select reported how Rhodes is just one of the few names who have received a contract extension from WWE.

Additionally, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Dominik Mysterio, and Rey Mysterio are some of the other names that have received a contract extension. However, more contacts are due to expire in 2024, like Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Becky Lynch, Ricochet and many others. WWE sources have displayed their faith in retaining most of them to sustain their stupendous product of recent years.

It seems the Stamford-based company is adamant about keeping its talent away from the free-agency pool. Unsurprisingly, apart from Rhodes, Dominik Mysterio’s hefty contract made the headlines a few days back. Reports suggest that WWE had seemingly secured the young talent for another five years.
