This week, on Tuesday, WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite went head-to-head against each other. Both promotions were vying to prove one another’s supremacy. Nonetheless, NXT eventually came out ahead in terms of ratings. AEW President Tony Khan has seemingly taken his defeat too seriously. Continuing his unprofessionalism, he passed taunting remarks on John Cena and The Undertaker.
Tony Khan took to X to take a petty shot at WWE. Khan put out a tweet on X saying, “This week, 2 active decades-long ratings streaks from 2 great legends were ended With all due respect, until this week’s head-to-head AEW on TBS vs WWE on USA, neither John Cena nor Undertaker had ever been on a WWE show with under 1 million total viewers + under 400k in the demo.”
Aiming at Cena and Taker, the AEW President pointed out that NXT failed to get over a million viewers despite having two WWE legends on board. He derisively stated that this was the first time The Deadman and the Cenation Leader were on a show that scored fewer ratings than a million.
Over the past week, Tony Khan has been quite active on social media. The AEW President left no stone unturned in taking potshots at WWE and the people associated with the company. His trivial remarks drew criticism from wrestling fans. So far, none from WWE, neither Triple H nor Shawn Michaels have responded to Khan’s unwarranted shots.
Booker T reacts to Tony Khan latest comments on social media
AEW President Tony Khan has been the epicenter of headlines in the past 48 hours. Following Dynamite’s colossal defeat in the Tuesday Night War, the 41-year-old made yet another disparaging remark at WWE. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T gave his honest thoughts about Khan’s social media comments.

Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said, “I don’t know what Tony Khan’s modus operandi is, I don’t know what his fixation on WWE is but I’ve said this once, I’ll say it a thousand times – Tony Khan got a hell of a product, he’s got a hell of a thing going but I really think that just like WCW, they focused on ‘WWE, WWE’, everything they were doing, they were trying to counterprogram every Monday night.” (H/T Wrestle Talk)
Booker T further noted that Tony mocked Cena and Taker for appearing on a show that averaged less than one million, but AEW has Edge a.k.a. Adam Copeland, now. Edge main-evented the show and his match drew 609k viewership. Thus, the WWE veteran believes that Tony Khan’s criticism is pointless.
