At this point, it’s safe to assume that WWE is getting a whole lot of mainstream attention. Ever since Dwayne Johnson walked over Cody Rhodes‘ WrestleMania spot to potentially insinuate a battle against Roman Reigns, social media has been a battleground. The entire hubbub is echoing beyond the realm of WWE, most notably getting an honorary mention at the Super Bowl pre-event. George Kittle of the 49ers proffered his two-cents on the matter.
The tight end’s theory, which he learned online, has also prompted WWE CCO Triple H to react to it. Kittle said that it would be his dream to see Roman Reigns battle it out with Cody Rhodes, with The Rock being a special guest referee. Quoting the said video clip, The Game affirmed that Kittle knows what’s up. In general, the fans are looking at it as an interesting one, especially coming from Triple H.
After an eventful Raw episode last night, WWE is primed to stage an open-to-the-public press event in Las Vegas this Thursday. As emphasized by Michael Cole during Raw, Cody Rhodes has yet to confirm his WrestleMania opponent, and that’s where it gets interesting. Despite reports claiming that Cody’s bound to challenge for the World Heavyweight title in Philadelphia, he simply didn’t announce it this week.

Some fans believe that WWE is milking out the entire situation that has arisen over the internet in the past 72 hours. It’s definitely hard to tell, but it seems like the company knows what the people want, and they’re keeping their options open. On Raw, even though he wasn’t there, Dwayne Johnson’s mention received “Rocky Sucks” chants from the vociferous crowd in St. Louis.
Dwayne Johnson’s WrestleMania status considered to be a “100% lock”
One thing’s for sure: barring any unforeseen circumstances, The Rock will definitely compete at WrestleMania. Moreover, there’s nothing like he’s not wrestling Roman Reigns unless an injury occurs, per PWInsider.
The report further noted that WWE has absolutely taken note of the upsurge in reaction for Cody. Moreover, some people in the company have pushed to lean into it. Right now, the creative department plans to assess the situation week-by-week. Further, it said that there’s no one on the creative team who’s looking to dilute Rhodes’ standing, as they’re aware of how crucial he is to WWE’s business.
The outlet also debunked the report that was erroneously spreading on social media in regards to Cody Rhodes potentially heading into SummerSlam 2024 as the World Heavyweight Champion. And he’d gone on to unify the gold against the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. But that’s not true.
