WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus hasn’t made an appearance on WWE programming since her critically acclaimed Steel Cage match against Becky Lynch at Payback. Fans criticized WWE for stretching this rivalry until the September 2 spectacle. As a result, Stratus reflected on the fans’ criticism regarding their feud.

Speaking on GAW TV, the 47-year-old commented on her recently concluded feud with The Man. Trish Stratus also opened up about the negative criticism it amassed. Speaking about it on the podcast, Trish Stratus said that she didn’t let the obnoxious fan reactions affect her mindset.

Many fans were discontent with the development of the Lynch vs Stratus program and felt that the feud was dragged out for too long.“This was huge for me, knowing what we had dealt with as far as our storyline, and people were still like, ‘This story is still going?’ I’m like, ‘Please.’ It’s funny because there was a bit of that, ‘This storyline is dragging,’ but it’s [all about the] booking,” said the Canadian superstar.

The multi-time Women’s Champion further elaborated that they didn’t have the luxury of social media during her prime. The only way to gauge the fan reception was by observing the live fans’ engagement during a particular match or segment. However, Stratus proved every doubter wrong by delivering a stellar match at Payback.

The WWE Hall of Famer shared a picture of her bruised forehead and captioned it, “#thankyoubecky” on Instagram. Going by the caption, Trish seemed extremely proud of the match she and Lynch delivered at Payback 2023. The WWE Universe called it one of the best matches of Stratus’ career.

Becky Lynch reacted with one word: “Respect.” The Raw Superstar reciprocated Stratus’ show of respect with an instant reply in no time. And that is how two of the biggest female superstars of their respective generations concluded their bitter rivalry with a mutual display of respect.
