The rumors for CM Punk‘s return have taken over the internet for a long while now. His firing from AEW took the world by storm and saw his fans turning their back on the promotion. Thus, the fans support the idea of Punk going back to the Stamford-based promotion and see a possibility in everything. Even a tease from CM’s side happened when he attended an NHL game and acknowledged Roman Reigns.
During a Chicago Blackhawks game against the Vegas Golden Knights, observers spotted CM Punk cheering for his hometown team. As his WWE theme song, “Cult of Personality,” played, Punk raised his hand and made a finger gesture. However, this could be seen as celebrating the Blackhawks’ goal or teasing a potential WWE return.
The way Punk did the hand gesture resembles The Bloodline‘s gesture of show-off. The Tribal Chief raises the index finger to state their dominance along with his family. The same was interpreted by The Best in the World which seemingly hinted at his impending return to the company early next year.
This could be an effort from Punk’s side to hint at his WWE return along with the promotion’s teases. It is likely that the Cookie Monster make his return at Royal Rumble 2024 and lead to his match at WrestleMania. Nonetheless, this would be a moment to remember Phil’s song hitting the 30th position would make the audience jump off their seats at Tropicana Field.

The heavy rumors of CM Punk’s return might come true at Royal Rumble next year. Some of the seeds have been planted by the promotion itself with mentions of it in their programming.
Punk has also added up to the hype now by resembling The Bloodline’s gesture during a hockey match. Wrestling Universe has showered their reactions to the tease in the comments on a post on X.
Along with Rumble, Survivor Series airing live from Allstate Arena could be a viable option for his impending return. With the seat limit increased for the Survivor Series, WWE might have a plan to deliver a major surprise for the Chicago fans. The hot period in WWE would gear up more after Punk’s entry.
