Asuka is all set to challenge Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at Night of Champions. She faced Zelina Vega in the recent episode of SmackDown in order to make a statement. Vega planned to defeat the women’s title contender, proving herself worthy of the title in the future. She delivered a good match with the former Raw Women’s Champion.

Zelina Vega received massive support at Backlash 2023 and emerged as a fan favorite. During the match this week, the announcers kept on saying how Vega’s win in this match would be essential to keep her momentum going. But LWO’s newest member went unsuccessful in the plan by tasting defeat herself via submission. She, however, delivered an iconic move during the match, leaving the fans energized.

Zelina Vega performed LWO’s own Rey Mysterio’s legendary move ‘619’ on Asuka. She received a huge pop from the crowd in the arena. The match ended when Asuka wrapped the 32-year-old in her submission hold. The former Raw Women’s Champion continued to lock her in submission even after winning the match.

It was then that Bianca Belair came to her rescue. But the Empress of Tomorrow once again tried to spit her green mist on Belair. Asuka’s attack last week on SmackDown earned her a rematch for Bianca’s Raw Women’s Title. What remained the talking point of the match this week was Vega performing the 619.

The recent episode of SmackDown featured a decent match between Zelina Vega and Asuka. The two put on a good show in front of the crowd in South Carolina. During the match, the Puerto Rican superstar received a huge reaction from the fans when she performed Mysterio’s finisher 619 on Asuka.
