Cody Rhodes has found his place in the top-tier list of stars since his WWE return. With a fantastic rivalry against Seth Rollins after WrestleMania 38, Rhodes rose to prominence and found the fame he had wished for in his previous stint with the company. Bring a talented and generational talent, the American Nightmare is now a threat to some of the established champions of the company.
On his return to WWE, Rhodes found a place against Seth Rollins and his in-ring skills made their rivalry intriguing. In a trilogy, which many considered historic, both men delivered three fantastic matches that millions will cherish for years to come in future. However, the dream run was paused after Rhodes suffered a shocking injury at Hell in a Cell 2022.
Since then, Rhodes has been sidelined for his rehabilitation. However, the American Nightmare is expected to make his iconic return at Royal Rumble 2023. This is followed by rumors of him being a contender for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship as well. But the claims were killed by an update which stated that Rhodes will possibly win the world title somewhere in 2024.
As per a recent update from Xero News, Rhodes’ title win plans may come earlier. Plans are being discussed for Rhodes entering 2024 as the world champion. However, there are no plans of the American Nightmare winning the title before SummerSlam 2023.

WWE has storylined Cody Rhodes’ WWE return perfectly
For the past couple of weeks, WWE has released videos of Cody Rhodes’ return story. The videos have featured on Monday Night Raw and fans are now excited for the American Nightmare’s in-ring return.
Rhodes was initially set to make his return on the New Year edition of Monday Night Raw. Upon his return, he was planned to distract Seth Rollins in his United States Championship match against Austin Theory. This would have been followed by WWE making a match between Rhodes and Rollins official for WrestleMania 39.
Now, Rhodes will supposedly make his return at Royal Rumble 2023 and will possibly win the match if Dwayne Johnson doesn’t make his return. This will reportedly be followed by him facing Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39 which will possibly be the last match between both men.
