Velveteen Dream was once considered one of the brightest young stars in the WWE and was also considered for a high-profile feud with John Cena at one point in his career. Dream was one of the top superstars in NXT and was sure to be an NXT Champion one day, but seemingly, that wasn’t his fate.
All of this changed when the former NXT North American Champion was accused of sending indecent images to minors in 2020. Further allegations of grooming young boys against Velveteen Dream were made during the Speaking Out movement. After the allegations, WWE continued to feature Dream, saying that there was no truth in these allegations.
He was eventually released in May 2021 after five months of inactivity. Dream was said to have been released due to behavioural issues. However, many believe that the WWE was under pressure from the fans, who have been clamoring for his release ever since the sexual misconduct allegations were made against him.
Ever since his release, Velveteen has found himself in trouble. This year, in August, he was arrested on charges of first-degree battery and trespassing on a property. He was also arrested in the same month for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The footage of his arrest for battery was obtained by TMZ Sports. Dream can be seen in the video becoming enraged and arguing with the police officer for failing to read him his Miranda rights. He even threatened to sue them when they refuse to let him speak to his lawyer. His battery and trespassing allegations were withdrawn in September after the victim decided not to press charges. You can watch the video .
“Hang up your f***ing phone, sir!” Clark said. I was not given my Miranda rights! You f***ed up! You f***ed up, sir! I was not given my Miranda rights, so go ahead and bring me to your motherf***ing station, you f***ed up! How’d you f*** up the Miranda rights, sir?! What are you, a rookie?! What’re you, a rookie?! Oh! We got a rookie on deck!”

Velveteen Dream had replied to EC3’s claims of him filming in the bathroom
Former WWE Superstar EC3 and Velveteen Dream have crossed paths at the NXT Brand. The two have faced each other numerous times, and their last known match was at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4, where Dream defeated EC3.
In September, during an appearance on SK’s Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 accused Dream of secretly filming some NXT members in his bathroom during a house party. The former WWE Superstar said that the incident took place before their match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4. He also alleged that WWE knew about this incident.
“We had a party and it was at my place, and he came over because I’m being friendly and I’m top guy and I tried to welcome everybody into the thing. He left his phone in my bathroom with the camera on trying to capture people taking pi**es, so there.”
After the allegations from EC3, Velveteen Dream defended himself and denied those allegations. During an Instagram Live session in September, he said that EC3 may have fabricated this story because he was unclear of his sexual orientation as a result of the persona he portrayed.
Dream also said that in order to prove that there was no sexual content, he showed their common friend from NXT his phone. Velveteen Dream further said that he is tired of people throwing dirt on his name. He accused EC3 of snorting cocaine at the party and calling him a druggie.

“EC3, you go out here after I give you the best match you’ve ever had in your entire career, I’m tired of people throwing dirt on my name……What type of powder was on the table Mike? Okay? So, let’s be real. Let’s not leave out all the details.”
Ever since the sexual harassment allegations, Dream’s wrestling career has gone down the drain. It seems that Dream hasn’t wrestled a single match since December 2020. His last known match was against Adam Cole in December 2020. It is likely that Velveteen Dream may switch careers, and it is certain that he won’t be seen in the WWE ever again.
