The Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23 is one of the most iconic moments in WWE. Bobby Lashley and Umaga battled in a high-stakes match on behalf of Donald Trump and Vince McMahon, respectively. But it was known later that Trump was paid a fairly small amount compared to what WWE paid to the now-defunct Trump Foundation.
A report by the Wall Street Journal stated WWE had to pay $4 million to Trump’s foundation for having the former US President on the show. On the other hand, Donald Trump was paid a million dollars as his fee. The charity was paid more than him to have him get into a contract with the loser gets shaved stipulation.
The contribution to the foundation was then considered an additional fee as another contract made by Donald Trump shaped the outcome of this match. The US politician entered into an agreement with WWE and Vince McMahon that, despite the result, he would not be shaving his head.
The contract specifically stated, “Under no circumstances would Mr. McMahon be allowed to shave his head, even if Mr. Trump’s wrestler dropped dead in the ring!” It was also stated that no further amount was paid to either Trump or his foundation, considering the success of the event and the segment.
Bobby Lashley faced Umaga, with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin being the guest referee for the match. The outcome of the bout landed in Trump’s favor when Lashley won the matchup with Austin’s help to take down Mr. McMahon. The aftermath of the match saw Trump, Steve, and Bobby shaving Vince’s head with a clipper and hilariously applying foam too.

The rivalry between Bobby Lashley and McMahons continued after WrestleMania 23
Vince McMahon’s shaved head felt embarrassing for him, which resulted in the continuation of his feud with Bobby Lashley. McMahon vowed to take Bobby’s ECW World Championship as revenge. The feud began at Backlash when Lashley competed with Shane McMahon, Vince, and Umaga in a three-on-one match.
The numbers advantage with the McMahon team led to Vince pinning Bobby and winning the ECW World Title. On Judgment Day, The All Mighty pinned Shane McMahon in the same matchup to win the bout but not the title. Mr. McMahon said that Lashley had to pin him to win the title, not Shane or Umaga.
But at One Night Stand, a stipulation of Street Fight was added to the matchup. This gave Bobby Lashley a chance to gain an advantage amidst the numbers game played by the McMahons. As a result, the former WWE Champion came out successful in the rubber match and even pinned the WWE Executive Chairman to win his title back.
