“The casual fans won’t give a cr*p” Vince Russo questions Triple H’s booking on Raw, Accuses him of booking for ‘Marks’ “
Vince Russo, a name that many wrestling lovers know and many don’t. The reason is that Russo almost worked his entire career behind the scenes. Russo started his WWE career as a freelance writer and would later become an editor following a recommendation from Linda McMahon. In 1996 when Monday Night Raw faced stiff competition from its rival promotion WCW as The Monday Night Nitro rose to skyrocketing ratings and Raw continued to fail, Vince McMahon himself called Russo and promoted him as a creative head.
In 1997, Vince would then become the Chief Writer for Raw, and would then be involved in creating successful storylines which would give Raw the push it needed. He played a crucial role in the formation of the Attitude Era and became close to Vince. With now Vince retiring, and Triple H now being The Head of Creative, it was expected that differences would soon arise between the two. And it seems that Russo is already unhappy with the way Triple H has started booking matches.
Ex-WWE Creative Vince Russo accuses Triple H of booking it for hardcore fans
In a recent interview, Russo accused The Game of booking matches for the “marks” or what we call the hardcore wrestling fans. He first questioned the Summerslam move of bringing Bayley back with IYO SKY and Dakota Kai as he said- “If that is the reason, and you know, we see the two new girls coming out with Bayley, bro, they’re booking for the fans they already have. The hardcore and the marks are gonna go nuts,”
He would then also point out the recent match between Seth Rollins and Montez Ford on the latest edition of Raw and accused Triple H of booking it for “marks.”. He said- “Bro, as soon as I saw Rollins and Montez Ford, I’m like, ‘Okay, bro, this is 15 minutes and the marks going to go crazy over this and the casual fans are not going to give a cr*p. So yeah, I agree with you Chris but again, when you’re going after that mass audience that’s for all the wrong reasons bro.”
He started his attack by questioning the length of the match and said that casual fans who watch wrestling just for fun won’t pay heed to a 15-min match. However, when the ex-WWE writer received considerable criticism from fans he later clarified it on Twitter by saying that he has no whatsoever heat with Triple H but he is just speaking facts.
