The Royal Rumble is one of the biggest and most exciting wrestling events of the year. It is part of WWE’s “Big Four” which comprises the longest-running PPVs in the company. The WWE Universe eagerly waits to see how the next three months will unfold, as the event also marks the beginning of the road to WrestleMania. As this year’s event is just hours away, the SmackDown commentator, Wade Barrett, shares his views and predictions for the annual event.

Wade Barrett recently revealed his sentiments toward the Royal Rumble PLE via Twitter. The former Intercontinental champion tweeted, “The #RoyalRumble has been my fave event of the year since I was a kid. Unmatched drama, suspense and consequences. Loved being in them too.” Barrett also predicted Bobby Lashley and Raquel Rodriguez as the winners of their respective Rumble matches. The former Intercontinental champion disclosed his surprise entrant as well as Papa Shango, who the fans saw as “The Godfather” at Raw 30.

Wade Barrett jumped ship from NXT to SmackDown in October of last year. This change came as Pat McAfee left WWE temporarily due to his hosting duties at ESPN College Gameday. Barrett has been a great colour commentator for the blue brand alongside Michael Cole. The chemistry between the two seems quite natural. The quick-witted back-and-forth humour is much loved by all the fans.
