After the match, Cody sat blankly in the ring. He emotionally said goodbye to fans after the show went off the air. When he walked on the ramp to leave the arena, he got the next level of support from his fans. If anything, there is a good probability that WWE will continue this feud. Probably Cody will be the biggest face wrestler for WWE for a while.

It was the first time Cody was in the main event of WrestleMania. He had his wife, daughter, and Brodie Lee Jr. (Negative 1) at ringside. According to the report, it was planned before two weeks that Roman Reigns would retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

As per the post-show press conference, Triple H explained Cody Rhodes’s loss and stated that “In WWE, the story never finishes,” Triple H referenced Rhodes’ quote ‘finish the story’. Triple H also explained that it was the end of the chapter, but not of the story.

Cody Rhodes is the first member of his family to headline WrestleMania. The battle was a hard-fought one, but it didn’t go in favor of Cody. The Tribal Chief retained his title. The battle ended with an implosion of emotions for the WWE Universe.

Reigns finished the match with the help of Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman. Cody was about to hit Roman with 3rd Cross Rhodes in a row, but Heyman distracted the referee. Then Soli Sikoa sneaked into the ring and attacked The American Nightmare with Samoan Spike. Earlier in the match, The Usos also attempted to interfere, but Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens came to Cody’s rescue. Roman Reigns is very close to completing the 1,000-day record for the longest-reigning Universal Champion with his ongoing reign of 946+ days.
