The Samoan Dynasty has spread its wings far and wide over the wrestling industry. As evident from the top champions in WWE, Roman Reigns and The Usos, it has ruled over the business as one of the greatest families in wrestling. However, the relationship between these ‘brothers’ seems to be more complicated than anyone thinks.
The YouTube channel CVV Clips recently posted a clip from an old interview with The Usos that made the rounds on the internet. In this clip, the Undisputed Tag Team Champions explain the Anoa’i family tree, elaborating on their relationship with everyone. While at first Jimmy Uso jokingly refers to Roman Reigns as “Aunt,” the other Uso explains his real relationship with The Tribal Chief.
‘Main Event’ Jey elaborates that the Head of the Table is the cousin of their father, Rikishi. Therefore, technically, Roman Reigns is their uncle in the family tree. The Usos revealed that they used to call the Tribal Chief “uncle” just to tease him too.
Reigns is the son of Sika Anoa’i, who was a professional wrestler himself. The Undisputed WWE Champion is the first cousin of Rikishi, making The Usos his second cousin. However, in the Anoa’i family, Roman can be referred to as the uncle of The Usos, hence the confusion. Later on in the interview, the twin brothers reveal that they have 47 uncles, including Rosey and Umaga.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso to reunite soon
Jey Uso broke millions of hearts last week as he turned on Sami Zayn, realigning himself with The Bloodline. While he explained his actions to the WWE Universe on SmackDown, there was still no reunion with Roman Reigns. In fact, the Tribal Chief wasn’t even the major reason he returned to his family. As he explained on Friday night, Jey only returned for his twin brother and blamed Zayn for not “falling in line.”
Nevertheless, there is tension between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns, which has been slowly brewing for three years now. Since the start of his title reign, the Head of the Table has manipulated his brothers to keep his position at the top.
However, the facade might come crumbling down soon. As WrestleMania gets closer, the story of The Bloodline remains the most intriguing part of WWE, which is slowly heading into an impending implosion.
