Becky Lynch won the NXT Women’s Champion this week on NXT. She defeated former champion Tiffany Stratton to clinch the gold and become a Grand Slam Champion. Moreover, The Man made a nice gesture on the show after NXT went off air. Becky Lynch took the microphone and appreciated the WWE Universe.
After a grueling matchup, Lynch took some time to share a few words with the WWE Universe. She said, “Guys, I just want to say thank you so much. Thank you so much for all of your support over the years. It meant the world.” The new NXT Women’s Champion showed off her title throughout the speech as she appreciated the crowd for always supporting her.
Furthermore, Becky Lynch stated that she will be a defending champion on NXT. “I don’t just want to take this and go home and go to “Raw,” I want to be here with you, I want to represent this brand, and I want to be a fighting champion for all of you,” she said.
Big Time Becks teased a possible run on NXT, as WWE is looking to make it a major brand. Therefore, the presence of Becky Lynch can be immensely beneficial for the Gold Brand. With her star power, she can elevate the brand and bring more viewers to NXT.
Becky Lynch became the NXT Women’s Champion for the first time in her career. Moreover, she captured a title after a long time in WWE. This championship run can be beneficial for her as well. It will be interesting to see where the title run is headed on the Gold brand from here on out.
Becky Lynch’s return drew highest viewership of last three years of NXT
Becky Lynch’s winning the NXT Women’s Championship was a big moment in the brand’s history. Her return has boosted NXT’s viewership, and it has proven a monumental moment for the Gold brand. NXT received the highest viewership in the last three years on this week’s show.
As per Sports TV ratings, NXT drew around 850,000 viewers. This is a huge bounce from the last NXT episode, which drew around 673,000 viewers. Needless to say, this is the highest viewership NXT has received since the October 20th, 2020, episode. Becky Lynch’s return has been considered a big reason for this big jump in TV ratings.
This week’s episode also featured some big matches, like Ilja Dragunov vs. Wes Lee and a confrontation between Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker. The show was headlined by the triumphant return of The Man, who finally claimed the NXT Women’s Title from Tifanny Straton. It is going to be interesting to see the title picture on NXT from here on out.
