The main event of Raw this week saw Gunther defend his Intercontinental Championship against “Main Event” Jey Uso. The highly anticipated match proved to be a classic, with memorable moments making it a PLE-worthy rematch. However, Uso failed to win his first singles title due to interference from his brother, Jimmy. After the show went off-air, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk joined him in the ring to cheer him up.

Rhodes came to thank the WWE Universe and support his former tag team partner after his tough battle. The American Nightmare called out Punk to address the fans in attendance. Despite being injured, he came to the ring and hugged both Jey and Cody. The Best in the World appreciated the work done by WWE superstars to entertain the fans and teased his return to the ring.

This is a bump in the road, and I promise you the next time we are in Anaheim, I will be here and I will have my boots on!

Since becoming the champion, Gunther has elevated the prestige of the Intercontinental Title. With countless classic matches and top feuds, The Ring General has become a future WrestleMania main eventer. Meanwhile, the Yeet Master was only one step away from ending the longest reign of the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE seems to have planted the seeds for a potential showdown between The Usos at WrestleMania XL. In the main event of SummerSlam 2023, Jimmy turned his back on his brother and sided with his cousin, Roman Reigns. Since then, it has been speculated that the two are scheduled for a future bout. With the interference in the main event on Raw, it appears that the plans are officially in motion for the dream match.

CM Punk comments on The Rock’s return to WWE

The Voice of the Voiceless is injured, and like Seth “Freakin” Rollins, he somehow manages to be the talk of the town. At the WrestleMania XL Kickoff media event, The Rock slapped Rhodes and turned heel. The Second City Saint got an open microphone and insisted The Undeniable hit back at The Great One. Interestingly, the latter was right behind CM Punk while he claimed that.

Recently, Punk was seen at the UFC 298 event and talked about the matches and other personalities. Upon being asked about The Brahma Bull, he praised him for returning to the WWE, especially with WrestleMania 40 around the corner. Surprisingly, the former AEW Champion did not back down from admitting his happiness about getting involved in the Rock-Reigns-Rhodes-Rollins fiasco.

The veteran superstar has claimed that it will take nearly 6–8 months for him to fully recover. Only time will tell when the Best in the World will make his return to in-ring action after getting his tricep injured. However, Punk must return with full caution, as Drew McIntyre, who added insult to his injury, might be lurking for him.
