The Fight Pit structure
You sure have been through some of the craziest match types in professional wrestling including Hell in a Cell, Barbed Wire match, Dog Collar match, even Bra and Panties too. But, Fight Pit is something which haven’t been there for ages and hence many people aren’t aware about the mentioned match type.
Today, we’re going to learn some much needed details about this particular match and what can we expect from the superstars entering this structure. Basically, by the looks of it you won’t be able to draw our major differences between a Steel Cage match and a Fight Pit as both need a caged-structure surrounded around the ring. Both have their tops open but this is exactly where the difference lies.
As you know, in a steel cage there is no coming back from the top as you just have to escape the cage and hit the floor to pick up the victory but Fight Pit doesn’t comes under the same domain. In the latter case, you need to submit or knock out your opponent to earn the rights to be declared as the winner making it much more like a UFC fight style match.
Also, there is a podium type structure at the top of Fight Pit where you can take your opponent and showcase some of your unique offenses pretty much like a Hell in a Cell rooftop, but a Fight Pit is just not closed completely. There is just some part of covering as the roof from all the corners.
Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle will throw down inside of a Fight Pit
One of the most personal rivalries that have been boiling on for 2 months on Monday Nights contains Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle. The two men battled out at Clash at the Castle where Rollins executed a middle rope curb stomp on the Original Bro to win the first chapter of their rivalry.
As seen on Raw this week, Riddle cost Rollins a golden opportunity to win the United States Championship from Bobby Lashley by interfering in their match. However, later on in the night Riddle ans Rey Mysterio faced Finn Balor and Damian Priest where Rollins distracted the babyface team which enabled the Judgement Day to earn a sneak victory.
Then, we saw backstage that both Riddle and Rollins have been barking at each other and ready to just finish what they had started. Matt Riddle then called for a Fight Pit match and Seth Rollins accepted. We now got ourselves a blockbuster match for WWE Extreme Rules premium live event next month.
