“We don’t talk anymore”- When Becky Lynch addressed her strained relationship with Charlotte Flair
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair once shared an unbreakable bond.
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have been the workhorses for the WWE Women’s division over the past 5 years or so. Both have accomplished a lot in their illustrious careers till now with many years still left in the tank for them. On multiple occasions, they portrayed themselves as fiercest of the rivals on television having being a part of some fantastic one on one matches over the years. We all are well aware of the fact that both Becky and Charlotte recently disdained upon their long stored friendship.
During an episode of Friday Night Smackdown in November of last year, WWE presented a Championship exchange segment between the two women as part of the WWE draft inorder to keep the respective titles on their brands.
Believing some reports on this topic, Charlotte and Becky had a heated argument backstage regarding this segment as there was something that didn’t go ahead as planned during that.
If you remember, when Sonya Deville asked them to exchange their respective belts, both women were clearly seen not too impressed with the call as Becky initially was denying to leave her’s first. Charlotte then unstrapped her championship but she threw it away from Becky while the latter was forcefully trying to snatch it. Charlotte then picked it up and Sonya took it over to her control so that there’s no more violence between the two.
Becky Lynch then abruptly threw her title towards Charlotte in an ugly manner which wasn’t looking good on the screens. Sonya then handed over the Raw Women’s Championship to Lynch. After Smackdown went off-air several reports emerged out regarding whether all that stuff was pre-planned or not and shockingly it was revealed that the things certainly didn’t went as originally planned. Due to all this havoc, tensions risen even more between the two and the bond between the two great former friends was seemingly broken by a long mile.
While speaking to Jimmy Traina on his SI Media Podcast, Becky went to unveil some of the aftermath info regarding his relationship with Fair after that segment and reported arguments.
“I don’t know, man. We don’t talk anymore. We don’t talk. So all I’ll say is the locker room needs a hero sometimes. And sometimes somebody’s gotta be a hero. I’m all right being that hero. That’s what I’ll say on that matter.”
Charlotte and Becky were once used to be great friends
If you’re following WWE during the NXT days of these women, you might be well aware that both Becky and Charlotte were a part of the “Four Horsewomen” group which also included Sasha Banks and Bayley.
They have given many delightful moments to cherish forever throughout their run to the entire WWE Universe. They were part of the epic 1st ever Women’s Championship triple-threat match at Wrestlemania 32 which marked the retirement of the Divas title and term ‘Diva’ from WWE.
Also, the beginning of the best WWE gimmick Becky have had till date and that of ‘The Man’ started at Summerslam 2018 where Becky lost a triple threat match to Carmella and Flair in a Smackdown Women’s Championship match, but attacked Charlotte afterwards the match was over which surprisingly received one of the loudest crowd reactions of the modern era.
That night changed the whole career landscape for Becky Lynch as she became heavily over among with the live crowds since that very moment.
