This Saturday, WWE held its annual Survivor Series premium live event at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. The closing moments of the show sent shockwaves across the WWE Universe. After Randy Orton helped the babyface team defeat The Judgment Day, a familiar theme song hit the arena. The next moment, CM Punk walked to the ramp, leaving fans in a frenzy.
The Straight Edge Superstar completely stole the spotlight with his unexpected return. Speaking of his return, a recent report from PW Insider shed light on when exactly CM Punk inked a deal with the Stamford-based promotions. According to the report via Ringside News, Punk and WWE agreed around a week ago.
The 45-year-old has reportedly signed a three-year contract with the company. However, the specifics regarding the nature of his contract remain unknown. It is unclear whether Punk has agreed to a light schedule like Brock Lesnar or if he would make weekly appearances on WWE programming.
The deal between the two parties was kept under wraps. No staff members, creatives, or even the top talents had any information about the return of the Second City Saint. There were even plans to keep his return saved for the upcoming Royal Rumble in 2024. However, the company had to rush his comeback to avoid any sort of leak within the company.
