WWE brought to us, the relation between Nikki Bella and Brie Bella. We have seen many relationships grow and die. On the one hand we have the children carrying on their family’s WWE legacy forward and on the second hand we have seen people turn against their own people. These kinds of relationships have made the show more entertaining and engaging. The relationships are however beyond the ring and sometimes are affected in reality.
WWE management knows what all the viewers want to see. The storylines that the writers provide work accurately as per the plan. With these storylines, the company is able to attract a large number of audiences. The Bella Twins including Nikki Bella and Brie Bella also fell victim to one of the most controversial sibling feuds in the history of WWE.
What was Nikki Bella and Brie Bella’s controversy?
The story goes back to 2014 SummerSlam. Brie Bella was in an ongoing rivalry with Stephanie McMahon. Nikki turned up against her sister in the match and helped Stephanie win. Nikki confessed that she did not like her sister as she was mean. The two women faced each other in multiple episodes before meeting at the Hell in A Cell. The loser of the match was decided to become the winner’s Personal Assistant.
Nikki Bella won the match and Brie became her assistant. Nikki left no stone unturned to humiliate her sister on the show. Brie had to reluctantly follow whatever Nikki demanded. She even helped her win matches by distracting the opponent. She went upto the extent of telling her that “As far as I’m concerned, I have no sister. I wish you died in the womb!”
Later Nikki defeated AJ Lee in meagre 39 seconds to win the WWE Divas Champion. Although it was the last day of Brie Bella being Nikki’s assistant, she celebrated her victory. The WWE Universe was waiting for Brie hitting on Nikki but on the contrary, we saw the Bella Twins celebrating Nikki’s win.
Brie Bella forgot whatever happened in the previous months and continued to play as an important member of The Bella Twins. The two sisters got back to work as if nothing had happened in the last few months. The two sisters went on to have a great bond after this controversy. Both the women are inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame and are not seen in the ring frequently.
