Back in 2022, the WWE Universe witnessed arguably one of the worst men’s Royal Rumble matches of all time. Of course, the blame reverts to Shane McMahon. Being the lead producer for the match, Shane-O-Mac weaseled into the delicacies of how the coveted bout should pan out. Allegedly, the son of Vince McMahon went out of business to stand out among the other participants.

Recently, WWE uploaded a full-fledged version of the mess that saw Brock Lesnar emerge as the winner. However, it did not take long for the fans to express their loathing for the match. A lot of backstage hassle between Shane McMahon and fellow producers resulted in a mumbo-jumbo product for the fans who paid a visit.

The Dome at America’s Center couldn’t even react to more than half of the entrances, as the themes were so generic and the fans weren’t able to catch them at first. Some familiar top-card faces did make the crowd pop; however, that was not enough to save the day for WWE. In the name of surprises, they got Shane McMahon to enter a touch before the penultimate spot.

And at 30, Brock Lesnar’s music hit. As he usually does, Brock went in, cleared the ring, and threw out Drew McIntyre last to punch his ticket to WrestleMania. As it turned out, that was the final Royal Rumble match tailored by a McMahon. Last year, Triple H filled in those shoes, and there was a humongous dichotomy between the Rumble match that fans saw in 2022 and its counterpart in 2023.

How have the fans reacted to the 2022 Royal Rumble horrors being renewed?

As mentioned above, the resurfaced essence of the ill-famed edition of the men’s Royal Rumble match has made the fans spew venom once again. They were baffled by the fact that a former World Champion like AJ Styles was eliminated by Madcap Moss.

Comparisons were made to the amateur hour, despite a field studded with professionals. Further, some fans brought up that the 2014 Men’s Rumble was even worse; however, they agreed to include the 2022 edition on that list.

Some NSFW slangs were also used to describe the rage. A fan even went on to say that the entire show was so bad that it made him feel like Becky Lynch’s match against Piper Niven, then Doudrop was the highlight.
