Booker T has had one of the best careers in multiple wrestling promotions over three decades. Fans have known him for his work in WCW, WWE, and TNA. During a recent podcast, the former WCW Champion revealed how Vince McMahon brought in Booker’s wife so that he would stay in the company.

Booker T. Huffman has been a legend in the industry since his debut in 1986. Huffman was a member of the Harlem Heat tag team before becoming a solo star. During their stint in WCW, he and his brother Stevie Ray won many tag team championships. They were inducted as a tag team into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.

On the “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T talked about his time in WWE. He revealed that he wanted to leave the company in 2006 after dissatisfaction with the creative. However, Vince McMahon hired Booker’s wife, Sharmell, to join him and created new storyline for the couple. The two would then play iconic “King Booker and Queen Sharmell” characters for over a year.

The 58-year-old also added that his wife has always supported him throughout his career. She also joined Booker T when they debuted in TNA in 2007. The two went on to become a part of a faction called the “Main-Event Mafia.” The faction included Kevin Nash, Sting, Scott Steiner, Booker T, and Sharmell.

After returning to WWE in 2011, the Hall of Famer wrestled for a short time. He started coaching the Tough Enough competitors and became a color commentator on WWE programming. Booker T was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a singles competitor in 2013.

Following his return after four years in 2011, it was announced that Booker T would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the class of 2013. This would be his first of two inductions. The second one was a part of his tag team with his brother Stevie Ray in 2019.

Huffman would restrict his wrestling appearances to a minimum in his second run with the company. He became the color commentator for WWE programming along with the likes of Jerry Lawler, Josh Mathews, Michael Cole, and Jim Ross. In 2022, Booker T became the commentator for WWE NXT alongside Vic Joseph.

Booker also made rare in-ring appearances outside of WWE in small independent promotions. He revealed in his podcast that he is done with professional wrestling and will not wrestle due to his age after the Rumble appearance.
