“Punished Internally” WWE takes a SHOT at AEW amid CM Punk controversy
WWE and AEW both are top wrestling promotions today. Being head to head in the game also brings in numbers war and sneak shots with them. While WWE still enjoys a monopoly of some sort in the business, it has faced stiff competition from its much newer rival.
While the two directly avoid clashing with each other, there have been instances where the promotions have come in face to face as their superstars have gone a step ahead and have name-dropped the rival promotion in their promos directly or indirectly.
WWE fires shots at AEW over ALL OUT Media Scrum Fallout
While this happens less in WWE due to more creative control of the management, AEW wrestlers can go all-in due to the creative freedom they enjoy. There have been various instances where we have seen AEW wrestlers speak about their rival companies.
Almost all are aware of the current position of AEW which doesn’t seem pleasing at the moment. This comes after CM Punk’s irresponsible comments at AEW All Out Media Scrum where he had lashed out at EVPs, Colt Cabana, and Hangman Page. The EVPs of the company include Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, and Nick Jackson.
There was a physical scuffle after the conference as well because of which the members had been suspended and Punk and The Young Bucks were stripped from the titles as well. Now WWE has taken a dig at the mayhem in their own style.
On the latest edition of SmackDown Michael Cole had announced- “I have been told that Ronda Rousey has been disciplined internally and the results will not be made public.”
“Sources have told me this, WWE official Adam Pearce has gotten carried away, he’s aired the dirty laundry publicly, hence the reason this investigation was taken behind the scenes with Ronda.”
