“He is all strength and power,” WWE Hall of Famer doubts whether he would have had a great match against Goldberg

Goldberg is one of the most powerful WWE superstars ever to grace the squared circle. A WWE Hall of Famer who hasn't fought Goldberg wondered how his matches against him would turn out.

Goldberg is one of the strongest wrestlers ever to set foot in the squared circle. The Former World Champion is currently acting as an ambassador for the WWE. According to recent rumors, Goldberg has signed a two-year deal with the company and will mostly appear at Saudi Arabia events and WrestleMania.

The WWE Hall of Famer’s last appearance in the company was at the Elimination Chamber last year. Roman Reigns defeated him at the event. The Former World Champion’s appearances are always fruitful for WWE.

The WWE Hall of Famer’s power-based, hard-hitting wrestling style has consistently won over audiences. Even though Goldberg was entertaining in the ring, some wrestlers thought he was dangerous in the squared circle.

Goldberg has a reputation for being stiff in the ring, and the best example of this would be his kick to Bret Hart at WCW Starrcade in 1999. The kick supposedly ended Hart’s career, as he was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and was forced to retire.

On a recent episode of the Kurt Angle show, Angle discussed Goldberg’s wrestling technique and whether or not they might have had a good match. Angle stated that Goldberg is a powerful wrestler who uses all his strength in the match.

He said that Goldberg was dominating because he was taught to do so in the WCW.. Angle stated that when he wrestled, he loved to put in time to get set in the match, whereas Goldberg’s best matches are short and dominating. Angle said that with Goldberg’s matches being short, he would have had a good bout against him but not a great one.

“Oh! Listen, man, he brings it! This guy, he is all strength and power, and he used every bit of it. I don’t even know if he knows how to let up. I mean, this guy is one stiff son of a gun! …….when I wrestle, I put in the time. When Goldberg wrestles, his best wrestling matches are one to two and three minutes, just short and sweet and dominating……I’d say I would have had a good match, but I’m not sure if I’d have a great match.”

Kurt Angle and Goldberg have shared the ring only once in their careers. The two have only wrestled together once, at the 2004 Royal Rumble. Although Angle has fought some strong and big men in his career, fans would have loved to see the two engage in a singles match. The scenario won’t happen, as Angle has hung up his boots and probably won’t engage in such a match due to health issues.

During the most recent episode of Café de Rene, a viewer asked former tag team champion Rene Dupree to name an overrated superstar from the Ruthless Aggression Era. Dupree chose Goldberg and called him unsafe in the ring. He also claimed that the Former World Champion would only do one or two live shows during his time with the company.

“As far as talent, Goldberg, yeah, because he was so goddamn dangerous in the ring. But he wasn’t there long too. He didn’t even do house shows, man…..Good for you,”

Goldberg was a professional footballer before making his foray into wrestling. His football career ended after he tore his abdomen off his pelvis. He intended to make a comeback, but due to a lack of success in the game, he decided to quit. The WWE Hall of Famer was not a fan of professional wrestling and began his career with WCW without competing in independent promotions.
