The Wrestling Machine Kurt Angle is considered one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time due to his athleticism and love for pro wrestling. He gave the industry innumerable moments and emerged as one of its most iconic names. But apparently, his career didn’t have a successful beginning.

After gaining tremendous success at an early stage, followed by winning a gold medal at the Olympics, Kurt Angle was approached by WCW, ECW, and the WWF (now WWE). He declined WCW’s offer on the advice of Ric Flair and signed with ECW, turning down a multi-million-dollar deal even with WWE.

Kurt Angle eventually joined WWE in 1998 but in a deal worth less than what he was offered previously. The WWE Hall of Famer picked up the style of professional wrestling immediately impressing others. Although he adapted to the style, it was challenging for him, and he made up his mind to quit on his first day of training. While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, he revealed some interesting things.

He said, “Starting out, you only trained five days, okay, you trained all day long. You’re taking 300 bumps a day, it was brutal. I literally quit after the first day because I was like, I can’t do this. […] But I was getting ready to walk out because it was like self-abuse.”

After securing a gold medal for America at the Olympics. Kurt Angle made his way into WWE and stood as the epitome of a classic wrestler. He quickly acquired the techniques of professional wrestling. Ever since his debut in 1999, Angle has been involved in some incredible storylines and memorable segments. While he is proud of some segments, he condemns a few of them.

Before his WWE debut, he was featured in a segment with Tiger Ali Singh on the March 7 episode of Sunday Night Heat. Singh was playing the role of an anti-American heel and offered Angle $5000 to blow his nose on the American Flag. However, the Hall of Famer declined his offer and ended up blowing his nose on Singh’s Indian Flag instead. He regretted the act and despised the bizarre segment.
