Big E was having probably the best run prior to his hiatus from WWE last year, with no signs of a return. Apart from being a multi-time tag team champion along with The New Day, he had an amazing singles run as well. However, months after losing his first WWE title, he suffered a neck injury. Which resulted in him being out of in-ring competition for over a year. Following the injury, the former WWE champion had to undergo multiple surgeries as well.
Furthermore, Big E is expected to make his return to the squared circle, sooner rather than later. The New Day member himself provided positive updates recently regarding his recovery. Upon his return, WWE reportedly has a big plan in place for the former WWE champion.
As per a report by WRKD wrestling, WWE is planning a feud between The Imperium and The New Day at some point down the line. Meanwhile, Big E vs. Gunther for the Intercontinental championship would be the focus point of the rivalry. However, if the reports are to be believed, all the New Day members have to be on the roster, which is not the case right now.
As of now, Big E has been away for over a year, while Kofi Kingston is also out due to an ankle injury. Furthermore, Xavier Woods has been pretty much carrying the faction, which is not enough. Nonetheless, fans are hopeful for a potential return of their favorite faction in full swing, sooner rather than later.

Recovery update of Big E and Kofi Kingston and when will they return?
Big E suffered a serious neck injury that put him on the shelf for a long time and took away more than a year of his career. Whereas, Kofi Kingston also suffered an ankle injury during a brawl on SmackDown earlier this year. The injury resulted in a lot of changes in plans for WWE.
As for their recovery, Big E has provided some positive updates, saying he will sit down with doctors for confirmation of return sooner rather than later. Kofi, on the other hand, underwent surgery, which was successful. However, there is no definite update on his recovery as of now. Hence, it remains to be seen when the WWE Universe will see them together again.
