WWE Hall of Famer Edge had his final match in WWE under his existing contract recently. He fought Sheamus on SmackDown, which was taking place in his hometown of Toronto. The Rated-R Superstar got an ovation after the match, as everyone believed it to be his final match. Even after the match, the 11-time World Champion did not decide what his future was going to be.
However, new updates are coming in about Edge’s status, as WWE has now removed him from their internal roster. He was initially shifted to the miscellaneous list from the main internal list. However, sources from PWInsider report that he is not on the miscellaneous list anymore. This might mean that Edge is finally done with WWE after 25 years.
Edge has been a part of WWE for such a long time that fans thought he would never leave the company. However, all the reports have fans riled up and excited to see what is next for the 49-year-old. Reports have also suggested that he is closer to signing an AEW contract than renewing his WWE contract.
Therefore, fans will have to wait and see what happens as AEW gears up for WrestleDream, which takes place on October 1st in Seattle, Washington. On the other hand, WWE is setting up their upcoming premium live event, Fastlane, which features the likes of John Cena, Seth Rollins, and The Bloodline.

Edge to become a free agent on October 1st
If the reports are true, Adam Copeland, better known as Edge, has not signed a new contract with WWE. This means that he will soon become a free agent and will be able to wrestle anywhere he wants. PWInsider revealed the same in their latest reports, as according to them, Edge becomes a free agent on Sunday, i.e., October 1st.

Coincidentally, that is the same day when All Elite Wrestling is hosting their first WrestleDream. Therefore, fans are wildly speculating that Edge might have signed with AEW and will show up at the event. As of now, the main event of the show will be Bryan Danielson facing Zack Sabre Jr. for the first time on such a huge level.
If the WWE Hall of Famer were to sign with the Jacksonville-based promotion, he would seemingly join his long-time partner and best friend, Christian Cage. The latter is on an exceptional run since turning heel. He is currently the TNT Champion and will face Darby Allin at WrestleDream.
