Following the billion-dollar merger between WWE and UFC to form the TKO Group, WWE released a few employees from their workforce. This included more than 100 backstage crews and a few wrestling talents. While the fans were not happy about the releases, it has come to light that people in creative were also not happy. Reports speculate that there were creative plans for a released superstar stretching until WrestleMania next year.

The wrestler in question is Mustafa Ali. The talented 37-year-old’s release did not sit well with the people in NXT. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful made some shocking revelations about Ali’s release. He said, “People I spoke to in NXT were unhappy about Mustafa Ali’s release. They had plans for him until almost WrestleMania season next year.”

Mustafa Ali to go on a world tour following his release

It came as a shock to wrestling fans when WWE announced the release of talents such as Dolph Ziggler, Dana Brooke, Mustafa Ali, and others. Needless to say, Ali was one of the most talented superstars on the roster. However, WWE failed to harness his full potential on the main roster. Nonetheless, he was having an incredible run on NXT.

The 37-year-old took to X to announce that he is no longer part of WWE on September 21. Following this announcement, Ali has officially said that he will go on a world tour. He took to X to post, “MUSTAFA ALI x WORLD TOUR bookMustafaAli@gmail.com”

This announcement has curbed the speculation about Mustafa Ali signing with All Elite Wrestling. All the released superstars, including Ali, have a 90-day no-compete clause. Will he join AEW after his world tour or will he end up in other promotions remains a question for the fans.
