WWE reportedly spreading FALSE information regarding WrestleMania 40, update on potential plans for Cody Rhodes
It seems the Stamford-based company tricked the observers into believing there were changed plans for WrestleMania 40.

The Royal Rumble is arguably one of the most entertaining PLEs in WWE’s bag. With the involvement of many top stars, several conflicting reports emerged that sought to explain the booking that will ultimately rule at Rumble. Therefore, the card shape of WrestleMania 40, however, it seems the Stamford-based company was playing with the enthusiasm of fans and reporters alike. Especially with regards to The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.
As previously reported by Sports Illustrated, the involvement of The Great One, The Rock, seems to have been considered one of the biggest obstacles for Rhodes. However, an apologetic update from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated suggests that it was all false information, fed for a purpose. In a nutshell, the Royal Rumble 2023 winner is still scheduled to ‘finish the story, and it might even involve a consecutive victory in the titular bout.

The Rock recently got added to TKO’s Board of Directors. Reports suggest that the 10-time World Champion could act like a true businessman and might hold off his rivalry with Roman Reigns until the Netflix deal starts. With Nick Khan already being high on their deal with the streaming giant, it might become a move “that’s best for business.“
The speculations around Rhodes’ contract have already engaged many observers. For now, the reports have highly suggested the possibility of Rhodes accepting a new deal and getting ready to once again headline WrestleMania. In Rhodes’ recent exchange with the Second City Saint, Ray saw a glimmer of internal conflict that brought heaviness to Cody’s speech.ย

These words were spoken on Busted Open Radio. The WWE Hall of Famer developed an analogy between Rhodes and the famous Star Wars character, Anakin Skywalker. He also mentioned how Punk bringing up Dusty made Cody uncomfortable to the degree that he looked conflicted.ย
Additionally, Ray also showed displeasure with the rebel narrative that was added for Rhodes. For him, he never picked up the ball that was left by Punk. The 52-year-old also added how it felt out of place, as Cody was someone who never lacked opportunities. Hence, for him, it was Punk who maintained an upper hand throughout the promo.
