Wrestling Analyst Dave Meltzer Reveals Ugly Truth Regarding Stranding of WWE Superstars in 2019 in Saudi Arabia
Some claimed it was due to a mechanical failure in the plane, while others presented bizarre conspiracy theories claiming that Vince McMahon had not paid employee dues and thus the stars had been stopped. But now, top wrestling analyst and observer Dave Meltzer has revealed that the superstars were indeed held “hostage” when they were in Saudi Arabia.
While speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer described the situation by using the Twitter controversy of the recently returned Karl Anderson‘s wife. While describing the situation, Meltzer termed Anderson’s return as “funny” because he returned to a place where he said he would never return.
Meltzer then described the whole incident and said, “Saudi Arabia, they were on that trip where they, whatever, got held hostage, and Karl got in trouble because it was – can you imagine, this is total WWE, right? They were held hostage, so Karl’s wife is concerned and trying to find word, and so she goes on Twitter and she’s going like “What’s going on?”
Meltzer said that it was normal for his wife to get a bit worried as her husband was being held hostage and she was not able to get an appropriate answer to this. But, the next day, when the superstars arrived, they were called in for a meeting and Anderson got yelled at because of what his wife did.
Meltzer criticised WWE for their handling of the situation and said that they handed the receipt to Anderson just because her wife showed concern for him on social media. Meltzer said if this was due to the fact that the company was trying to hide the situation, the truth would have been communicated to the public in some or other manner.
If it hadn’t been for Anderson’s wife, then it could have been any other person. However, the company managed to hold consecutive successful events in the country after that and will again be hosting the 4th edition of the special premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 5th.
