The dust has yet to settle on CM Punk‘s AEW termination. It’s been just under a week since Tony Khan released Phil Brooks from his promotion. They decided after a disciplinary committee’s unanimous verdict on the matter. That said, a ton of reactions poured in ever since Punk’s firing. Recently, current LWO member Zelina Vega commented on The Second City Saint.

First of all, she clarified that her ‘Red X’ post on X had nothing to do with Punk’s AEW release. Instead, it was an inspiration from Rey Mysterio’s gear, on which Dominik’s face had a red cross over it. “Rey had this jacket on during our entrance, and he put a big, red ‘X’ on Dominik’s face And that became the thing,” said Vega on Newsday.

Zelina Vega praised CM Punk and said that she doesn’t care what people on the internet say about him, as he’s always been great to her. When asked if she’d like to see CM Punk return to WWE, Zelina Vega was all for it. “He’s always been a fantastic person. So will the ‘X’ be meaning putting an ‘X’ on Dominik’s face, and CM Punk? It absolutely can be, because, I’m a big supporter of him,” said Vega on Punk.

Well, as of now, Punk hasn’t issued any public statements regarding his calamitous release. There were rumors that a response was expected from Punk’s camp that had the potential to be ‘explosive’. If they eventually come out, things could become very spicy. As of now, the ongoing CM Punk situation is like a powder keg, as it could erupt with a single spark.

Well, one of the most shocking stories to have surfaced since last Saturday was Punk’s desire to get back to WWE. Fightful Select revealed that Phil gauged interest for the same last year in December. One of the ideas that made the rounds in WWE was that Punk would’ve entered the Royal Rumble 2023 match.

Moreover, the superstar who was to eliminate him from the match would have gone on to become his WrestleMania opponent. For what it’s worth, that name was none other than Kevin Owens. However, the report clarified that the pitch was never seriously considered as Punk was still under contract with AEW back then.

Now, PWInsider has reported that CM Punk and Triple H did talk ever-so-briefly during the former AEW Champion’s unprecedented visit to WWE Raw in Chicago. There’s no word on what they spoke about.
However, the 44-year-old had already reconciled with The Miz. Additionally, Punk encountered a handful of WWE talent before security escorted him out of the arena upon Vince McMahon’s orders.
