Gigi Dolin and Zoey Stark became the first two superstars to qualify for a big ladder match in LA. The two of them are heading to NXT Stand & Deliver with a chance to walk out as the new NXT Women’s champion, as Roxanne Perez’s status seems to be uncertain.
Following Roxanne Perez’s collapse last week, Shawn Michaels announced via Twitter that there will be a ladder match for the NXT Women’s title at Stand and Deliver. It is still unclear whether the current champion will be medically cleared to compete in this match or not. Meanwhile, two of the match participants were determined in a series of qualifying matches last night.
Zoey Stark became the first woman to qualify for the match by defeating Sol Ruca last night on NXT. Later in the show, Gigi Dolin joined the fray as she defeated Kiana James in her match. The other qualifying matches will take place in the following weeks, leading up to NXT Stand and Deliver.
Gigi Dolin was recently involved in a high-profile feud with her former tag team partner Jacy Jayne. The former NXT Women’s tag team champions had a match last week on NXT Roadblock, which Dolin won. On the other hand, Zoey Stark hasn’t been involved in any feuds lately. She competed for the NXT Women’s Championship last year against Mandy Rose but hasn’t won the title so far.

Update on Roxanne Perez ahead of NXT Stand & Deliver
Roxanne Perez successfully defended her NXT Women’s Title last week on NXT Roadblock against Meiko Satomura. However, after the match, the Champion collapsed in the ring and was soon sent to a hospital. Shawn Michales recently provided an update on Perez’s health via Twitter, sharing that the 21-year-old was discharged from the hospital on Friday. However, her return to the ring is still uncertain.
Last night on NXT, the WWE Universe got a detailed update on Roxanne’s health from Dr. Warren Becker. While he reassured that all the tests came back positive, the doctors were not able to identify what caused the Champion to collapse. Hence, they couldn’t provide a timeline for her return. Consequently, The Heartbreak Kid made an executive decision to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion at Stand & Deliver.
Dr. Becker assured that they would “consult with other professionals to investigate this issue further.” Many fans are still hopeful Roxanne Perez might be able to come back for the upcoming ladder match. NXT Stand & Deliver will be a big event over WrestleMania weekend, emanating from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
