WWE NXT Results Including Championship and Contender Match

The WWE NXT episode that aired this Wednesday had two No.1 Contenders match, in addition to the NXT North America Championship Match. The main event of the show, had Damian Priest successfully defend his North American Champion Title against Dexter Lumis.

Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong def. Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan

The first Contender’s Match of the evening was for the Tag Team Championship. It was Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong) going against Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan. The match really good segments of just trading blows and constant use of arm breakers. The current Tag Team Champions, Breezango, were seated at the entrance of the ramp, throughout the match. Roderick Strong gave a leaping knee, and pinned Oney Lorcan for the 3 count.

Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong will now be facing Breezango in a Tag Team Championship Match at Halloween Havoc.   

Update: Finn Balor, the current NXT Champion, had broken his jaw in his last match. William Regal provided the update that Balor has been given a few weeks off. The next Championship contender will be decided after Balor returns.

Promo: A promo for Ember Moon’s return to NXT is aired. She said that she could’ve been drafted to Raw or Smackdown, but she chose to come to NXT as the have the best Women’s wrestling division. She says no matter who the Champion is, she will regain her NXT Women’s Championship.

Jake Atlas def. Ashante Adonis

This was a short match, with Atlas picking up an easy win over Adonis. As soon as the match begins Adonis is distracted by Legado Del Fantasma, standing on the ramp. A simple roll-up and pin by Jake Atlas for the win.

Johnny Gargano def. Austin Theory

Gargano and Theory had a classic back and forth battle. Gargano gained early advantage with some serious attacks on Theory’s jaw. With a Final Beat followed by a 3-count, Gargano picked up the win.

Candace LeRae def. Shotzi Blackheart

Shotzi Blackheart and Candace LeRae faced off against each other in a one-on-one match. LeRae used knuckles to hit Blackheart, which went unnoticed by the referee. Post the match she even gave the knuckles to the referee.

Candace LeRae won the match to become the No.1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Title. She will be facing Io Shirai in a NXT Women’s Championship match in 2 weeks’ time, at Halloween Havoc. After the match, NXT General Manager William Regal informs LeRae that she has earned the title shot, irrespective of the means. He also informs that the stakes of the Championship Match are going to be high.

Toni Storm def. Aliyah

Toni Storm makes her in-ring return and completely dominated her opponent Aaliyah. She went into an all-out attack mode as soon as the match began. She hit a clothesline, followed by a Storm Zero. A clean pinfall for Toni Storm, for the win.

Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel def. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick

Imperium (Aichner and Barthel) attacked Maverick while he was making his enterance. He was beaten down to the mat even before the match began. Dain tried to save Maverick, but Imperium continued with their 2-on-1 assault. They finally pinned Maverick for the win.

Post the match, Ever-rise showed up and attacked Maverick. Dain again came to his rescue. Dain and Maverick have become full-fledged a Tag Team.  

Damian Priest def. Dexter Lumis

Damian Priest successfully defended his North American Championship, against Lumis. Cameron Grimes interfered in the match, by attacking Priest. As Priest avoided the attacks and moved up the ramp, he was attacked by Johnny Gargano from behind. William Regal officially announced Gargano’s match for the Championship.

NXT General Manager also revealed that the stipulations of the matches would be determined by the host of Halloween Havoc, Shotzi Blackheart. Blackheart announced that the stipulations would be decided by spinning the Halloween Havoc wheel!
