“I have no desire” Paul Heyman on joining the WWE Hall of Fame

Paul Heyman, an American entertainment executive and performer presently affiliated with WWE, is serving as Special Counsel for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns on the SmackDown brand. Many wrestling fans and analysts have applauded Heyman’s efforts as a promoter and booker. Heyman is widely recognised as one of the best orators in professional wrestling history, with former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Raven describing him as “the most creative mind the business has ever seen.”

In a recent interview with 101 WRIF, Paul Heyman explored the possibility of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Heyman recently praised The Undertaker for retiring and entering the Hall of Fame. However, Heyman claims that induction for himself is not something he desires at this time.

“I have absolutely no desire to go into the Hall of Fame while I am special counsel to the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns,” said Paul Heyman. “And putting together a Hall of Fame run simply based on what we do as the Undisputed Champion right now, let alone everything else that has been accomplished beforehand. So while we’re in the middle of this run, it would make no sense for me to go into the Hall of Fame.”

Heyman appeared in a backstage segment on the August 28, 2020 edition of SmackDown, associating himself with the returned Roman Reigns, who is now operating as his special counsel. Lesnar and Reigns feuded after Lesnar’s return to WWE at SummerSlam in August 2021. Heyman was contacted by Lesnar, who demanded that he convey a message to Roman Reigns. Then, in an episode of Smackdown in the month of December, Reigns fired Heyman and attacked him, ending their alliance. Lesnar protected him from being attacked just as Reigns was going to smash him with a steel chair.

After Lesnar won the WWE Championship at WWE Day 1, Heyman re-aligned himself with Lesnar on the January 3, 2022 episode of RAW. Reigns then intervened in the WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble, as Heyman turned on Lesnar and handed Reigns the championship belt to hit Lesnar with, causing Bobby Lashley to win the title from him in the process. Later, with a sequence of events, we witness the greatest Wrestlemania match of all time a couple of weeks ago with Reigns beating Lesnar to unify the heavyweight championships.
