On this week’s Raw, Bron Breakker unleashed a brutal assault on his rival, Ricochet. During a backstage scuffle, the former NXT Champion delivered a gnarly powerslam through a car windshield. As such, the high flyer was stretchered out of the arena in an ambulance. Fast forward two days later, and WWE has issued a medical update on The One And Only.

The company’s official X account revealed that the former United States Champion suffered multiple body injuries. Moreover, they confirmed that Ricochet would be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time. Although reports stated that this was written as a way to write him off television ahead of his contract expiring, the 35-year-old could return if he somehow manages to secure a new deal.

Having said that, it seems unlikely that fans will see him again on the red brand. However, Ricochet will be defending the WWE Speed title against Andrade on the exclusive X show. The match was taped following last week’s episode of SmackDown. Obviously, The Highlight of the Night was dethroned by the Latino star.

As per sources within the company, many expect him to join AEW as soon as his contract expires. And a new report from PWInsider mentions that his deal will run out sometime around July. Therefore, it is only a matter of time before fans see Ricochet become “All Elite.”

Tony Khan comments on possibility of Ricochet joining AEW

Amidst all the buzz surrounding Ricochet’s future, AEW president Tony Khan broke his silence on possibly poaching the high flyer. In an interview with TVInsider, he was asked about how he views the 35-year-old as a talent.

However, the owner declined to answer, claiming that he would prefer refraining from speaking about stars still signed to other promotions. Despite his stern answer, Khan will definitely look to acquire the services of the former Intercontinental Champion once his contract expires.

After all, fans are eagerly anticipating a rematch between the WWE star and Will Ospreay. Speaking of the latter, he posted an interesting photo of the duo shaking hands after reports of Ricochet’s deal running out came to light. Nonetheless, only time will tell when these two will lock horns inside the ring again.
