WWE Raw Results – 09/11/2020 (Orton McIntyre in a tag-team match, 2 Championship Matches)
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton
Raw kicks-off with highlights from last week’s Raw episode. Mr. Money in the Bank The Miz is making his way to the ring with John Morrison. We start off with a segment of Miz TV.
Miz TV
Miz mentions this is the most must see talk show in the history of WWE. He announces that tonigh he and Morrison team up with WWE Champion Randy Orton. They will be facing Raw Tag team Champions the New Day and Drew McIntyre. Only time will tell whether Miz cashes in his contract.
Randy Orton’s music hits. The WWE Champion walks down to the ring. He cannot believe that Miz feels the talk show is more important than their match. Orton dares Miz to cash in the contract. Raw Tag team Champions walk in. They laugh at Miz and Morrison’s plan to become Tag team Champions. They enter the ring. Orton hits an RKO out of nowhere on Kingston. Miz and Morrison take down Woods.
McIntyre’s music hits. He and Orton start brawling. Miz hits McIntyre with the briefcase. RKO out of nowhere to McIntyre. Orton stares at Miz and Morrison.
Riddle def. Jeff Hardy and Elias in a Triple-threat match (Qualifies for Team Raw, Survivor Series)
This is a second chance match. The three wrestlers lost their qualifier matches for Survivor series. The winner of this match qualifies. Elias is in the ring. He thanks fans for purchasing his music album. Elias is fed up of Hardy’s new addiction of hitting him with guitars. Hardy’s music hits.
The bell rings, and the match begins with the three wrestlers trading roll-ups. The action continues outside the ring as well. Elias smashes Hardy and Riddle on the floor. Hardy and Riddle get into a fist fight. Hardy is hit with an overhead kick from Riddle followed by a high knee from Elias. Riddle counters a slingshot from Elias with a Bro Derek for the win.
Riddle is the final member on the Men’s Team Raw. He joins AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, Keith Lee and Sheamus.
Shayna Baszler def. Lana
Footage is shown of Lana being put through the commentary table. Nia Jax has done this 7 times in the last few weeks. Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke are on commentary. As the bell rings, Lana jumps on Baszler’s back. She gets Lana down and completely dominates her in the short match. She applies a Kirifuda Clutch on Lana for the win.
Nia Jax goes to put Lana through the table again. But Rose and Brooke kick Jax. They start arguing. Lana thanks Rose and Brooke backstage. They mention she cost her the Tag team Championship last week.
Team Meeting – Men’s Team Raw
AJ Styles makes his way to the ring, with his tall bodyguard. All the members start blaming each other for attacking them last week. Riddle tells all of them to chill. He says he has decided cool nicknames for all the members. Styles is Skipper. Strowman is Mongoose. Lee is Bro Lee. Sheamus is Fireface. Sheamus gives Riddle the nickname Dopey.
Styles names their opponents from Team Smackdown. He mentions that they are a strong team. In order to help Team Raw win, they need to be the Best of the Best. Styles had an idea and he has pitched it to WWE Official Adam Pearce. Sheamus and Strowman will team up against Lee and Riddle with Styles as the guest referee.
Riddle and Keith Lee def. Sheamus and Strowman
AJ Styles is the guest referee. This was a really fun tag match, with all the wrestlers putting in great amount of hard work. There were some comedic segments in the match too, involving referee Styles. At one point he was sandwiched between Lee and Strowman. His huge associate came to his rescue. Multiple bling tags added to the intensity of the match. As Sheamus and Strowman argue upon the bling tags, Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick as Strowman falls outside. Riddle quickly rolls up Sheamus for the win.
Bobby Lashley def. Titus O’Niel (retains WWE United States Championship)
Prior to the match 24/7 Champion Drew Gulak walked up to MVP. He mentions that his stable has WWE US Champion Bobby Lashley. Other members of the Hurt Business, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin will soon be the WWE Raw Tag team Champions. They would definitely want 24/7 Champions with them too. MVP says they are not accepting applications. They beat Gulak down. R-Truth runs in and pins Gulak. R-Truth is the 24/7 Champion again.
The Championship match was a really short one. Titus tried to get into the match. But Lashley hit a Spear and applied The Hurt Lock for the win.
Asuka def. Nia Jax (Non-title match)
Both the wrestlers in this match are Raw Champions. Asuka is Raw’s Women’s Champion, while Jax is one half of the Tag team Champions. But this is a non-title match. Women’s team Raw is present at the ringside. While Asuka and Jax were fighting inside the ring, Lana and Baszler brawled outside. Asuka dominates Jax and pushes Lana and Baszler into Brooke and Rose. Asuka rolls up Jax and applies the Asuka lock. Baszler attacks Asuka. Referee calls for the bell. Asuka wins via disqualification.
Jax and Baszler clear the ring. Mandy Rose looks injured. Jax grabs Lana and puts her through the table. Eighth time. She says Lana doesn’t belong here and she will drag the whole team down.
WWE 24/7 Championship 7-Way match (R-Truth retains)
Prior to the match R-Truth is confused. He thought this was GQ photoshoot with 7 cameras. R-Truth is up against, Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik, Tucker, Akira Tozawa, Drew Gulak and Erik. As the bell rings all the wrestlers gang up on R-Truth. Akira Tozawa pins him for the title. The title changes hands multiple times. Erik pins Tozawa. Gulak pins Erik. Tucker pins Gulak. Gulak pins again. Tucker gets it back again. Gran Metalik pins Tucker. Lince Dorado pins for the title. R-Truth hits and Attitude Adjustment on Dorado to retain the title.
Mustafa Ali def. Ricochet
Prior to the match, Ali mentions that Ricochet is a good man. But he is also a fool because he decided against joining Retribution. No mercy will be shown to him.
Ricochet starts off really strong in the match. Ricochet flips Ali out of the ring. He brings him back to the ring. Retribution surrounds the ring. Some really nice athletic gymnastics was at display in the match. Ricochet goes to the top-rope and hits a cross-body block on Mace, T-Bar and Slapjack. He then misses a Phoenix Splash on Ali as Ali applies a Koji Clutch for the win.
WWE Champion Randy Orton defends his title against McIntyre, next week on Raw, informs Adam Pearce. Orton is not happy with the news.
Drew McIntyre and The New Day def. Randy Orton, The Miz and John Morrison (6-man Tag match)
The match begins with McIntyre going against The Miz. McIntyre is completely dominating. Miz goes for a tag to Orton. But Orton does not acknowledge. McIntyre begs Orton to get involved. McIntyre takes and throws Morrison into the corner. He asks Randy Orton to tag in. Orton walks off. McIntyre hits a Glasgow Kiss followed by a Claymore Kick to Morrison for the win, as the show comes to an end.
