Lashley defeated The Miz
The episode of WWE Raw kicked off with a video highlighting last week’s Bobby Lashley – The Miz feud. The duo will be facing off against each other for the WWE Championship.
Drew McIntyre’s segment
Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre made his way to the ring. He mentioned that it had been a terrible month for him. His friend of 20 years turned on him and they are at war. McIntyre defeated five former WWE Champions to retain his title at the Elimination Chamber.
But he was viciously attacked by Bobby Lashley, enabling The Miz to cash in his MITB contract. But now McIntyre has clear goals – retain the title and main event Wrestlemania. As he spoke, the WWE Champion The Miz cut him off and walked to the ring. He asked the announcer to announce his name again, as he posed with a huge pyrotechnics display.
The WWE Champion mentioned that he did exactly what he was supposed to. But he did not want help from Bobby Lashley at the WWE Elimination Chamber. But he threatened his well-being, hence, he had to give him the WWE Championship match. He said that McIntyre deserved the title more than anyone.
MVP walks out with a cane. He reminded The Miz about his Championship match at 9p.m. Eastern. Sheamus walked out and started brawling with McIntyre at the ringside.
Drew McIntyre def. Sheamus
The bell rang, and they immediately began brawling, throwing heavy fists. Sheamus punched him to the corner and punched him down. McIntyre grabbed Sheamus and punched him before chopping the chest. Sheamus connected with a stiff short-arm clothesline before going to the second rope for a diving knee drop for a one count.
McIntyre stomped the face and hooked a front facelock. McIntyre whipped him hard to the opposite corner, and Sheamus collapsed. Sheamus dropped a NASTY knee to the head and applied another arm bar while ripping at the mouth.
The ropes were a little loose, so Sheamus slipped through the top rope and gets his neck hung up. McIntyre then applied the 10 Beats of the Bodhrán.
McIntyre set up for a Future Shock DDT, but Sheamus fought out. Sheamus countered a slingshot and kicked him in the chest. McIntyre looked like he was out. Sheamus backed up and sized McIntyre up. He went for a Claymore Kick, but McIntyre intercepted him with a Claymore Kick for the win.
Nia Jax def. Naomi
Jax took down Naomi with an avalanche. Naomi tried to fight back, but Jax took her down again with a bear hug. She followed with a Samoan Drop and a chokeslam powerbomb for the win.
Braun Strowman’s segment
Strowman said that the Elimination Chamber sucked without him. He called the stipulation, of having former WWE Champions in the match, stupid.
Shane McMahon walked out with Adam Pearce. He mentioned that he had been taking MBA courses. McMahon read about conflict management. The best way to resolve it is through communication. So he is providing an opportunity to Strowman to gel well with the WWE management.
Shane McMahon announces that Strowman and Adam Pearce are getting a shot at the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship.
The Hurt Business def. Braun Strowman and Adam Pearce (retain WWE Raw Tag Team Championship)
Strowman ran over Benjamin and Alexander with a shoulder block. He clotheslined Benjamin out of the ring. Strowman then viciously threw Alexander out of the ring. He wiped out The Hurt Business with the Strowman Express.
Shane McMahon got on the apron and told Strowman to tag Pearce in. Strowman wasn’t happy, but he begrudgingly tagged Pearce in. Pearce looked surprised. He got in the ring, and Benjamin quickly rolled him up with an inside cradle for the win.
Damian Priest def. Elias
Elias wrenched the arm, but Priest twisted his arm as well. Priest fought back and hit a spinning wheel kick. Priest knocked him out of the ring. Elias stared at Bad Bunny.
Priest tried to fight back, but Elias kept him grounded. He hit a big boot to the face in the corner. Ryker got involved and attacked Priest when the referee wasn’t looking. Elias applied a chin lock, but Priest eventually fought up and powered out.
Ryker got on the apron for a distraction, but the referee caught him. Elias pushed him to the corner and got him in the electric chair. Priest slid off and hit a bell clap. Priest kicked him in the face and connected with Hit the Lights for the win.
Randy Orton’s segment
Randy Orton was interviewed backstage. Orton was asked about what happened last week when he started throwing up a black liquid. Orton wasn’t sure, but he knew Alexa Bliss had something to do with it.
Bliss appeared on the screen sitting in the middle of a pentagram with a jack-in-the-box, which also has a pentagram. She laughed and whispered, “Bring it back.” An evil Randy Orton appeared on the screen and told regular Orton that he will have to pay for all his sins. Regular Orton got sick and ran off.
Charlotte Flair’s segment
Flair mentioned it had been emotional few weeks for her. She wasn’t able to retain her tag team titles, and now Asuka isn’t there as well. But she wants to face Asuka for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.
Jax and Baszler cut her off.Baszler said that she might be The Queen but she is fightinh an uphill battle as an army of one. Additionally, everyone hated Flair. She should’ve gone home instead of Ric Flair. She attacked Baszler.
Charlotte Flair def. Shayna Baszler
Flair was sent out of the ring. She sidestepped Jax and sent her to the ring steps. Baszler was got into a Natural Selection, as Flair picked up the win.
Lucha House Party and Riddle def. RETRIBUTION
Riddle started against T-Bar. Slapjack tagged in and attacked Riddle. Mace tagged in, and he hit a sidewalk slam for a near fall. T-Bar tagged back in, but Riddle fought him off and got Mace out of the ring.
Riddle hit Mace with a plancha. Lince Dorado tagged in and attacked Slapjack and T-Bar. Gran Metalik tagged in and splashed Slapjack for the win.
Ali got angry and challenged Riddle.
Mustafa Ali def. Riddle
Ali quickly took it to Riddle and attacked the arm. Ali attacked the arm, but Riddle soon came back with a Pelé Kick. Riddle attacked Ali and hit a belly-to-belly suplex. Riddle followed up with a Broton and a PK for a near fall.
Slapjack got on the apron to distract the referee. Reckoning then got in the ring. Ali hit Riddle with a botched double knee driver off the second rope for the win.
Bobby Lashley def. The Miz (New WWE Champion)
The match was scheduled for 9 p.m. Eastern, but Miz did not show up. He said he had cramps, and the match was postponed to 10 p.m.
Later The Miz did show up for the match. But as soon as the match began, he rolled out, grabbed his Championship and ran away. The referee counted him out. Although Lashley won, Miz retained the title.
Shane McMahon then announced that it will be a Lumberjack match. Most of the Raw roster came down to the ring. The bell rang, and The Miz swung the WWE Championship at Lashley to get disqualified, but Lashley caught it. Miz tried to blindside Lashley, but it had no effect. Miz got out of the ring and tried to bargain with Elias and Drew Gulak. Gulak threw Miz into the ring.
Lashley continued to attack The Miz and hit a one-armed spinebuster. He applied the Hurt Lock, and Miz tapped out. Lashley is the new WWE Champion. He pointed at the Wrestlemania sign and celebrated.
