This week’s Raw in San Antonio featured a third face-off between Roman Reigns and CM Punk on the road to WrestleMania 42. After heading down to the ring first and milking every ounce of the crowd reaction, Reigns asked Punk to confront him, as he was looking to handle some business. Punk made Reigns wait until it started annoying ‘The OTC’.

Even after making his way out, the former AEW star took all the time in the world glad-handing at ringside before stepping through those ropes. First off, after welcoming Reigns to his ring and his main event, Punk briefly addressed his archrival’s recent spree of calling him out with his government name.

‘The Best in the World’ said that only his close ones are allowed to call him that way, and he’d have tried clapping back at the 40-year-old by calling him Titty Tiaki but not Joe, as it’d certainly be an insult to a Samoan he loved, which was a shoutout to Punk’s last AEW opponent—Samoa Joe.

CM Punk was surprised that Roman Reigns hadn’t taken a swing at him yet, considering how everyone thought that his claim of burying Reigns next to his father got labeled as an extremely below-the-belt remark.

‘The Second City Saint’ affirmed that he has already won the main event of this year’s WrestleMania with him firmly in the Tribal Chief’s head. The latter retorted by saying that he’s on everyone’s mind, as could be gauged by fans chanting his name every now and then. ‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ also brought up his last week’s segment with The Usos, who Punk said were sent by Reigns as he was too scared to show up.

The World Heavyweight Champion admitted that he didn’t like putting Reigns’ cousins in the crosshairs, but he deserved what he got in return from them. Punk said that the message delivered to him was right, albeit the messengers weren’t.

‘The Cookie Master’ wondered who the real ‘Tribal Chief’ was. That line in particular set Reigns off, and he started scoffing at the crowd for cheering anything like that. ‘The Head of the Table’ asked Punk to cut down on the same material everyone’s been using for the last five years.

The former Bloodline boss called Punk trite and redundant. Responding to Punk being salty about Reigns’ part-time status, the record-setting Undisputed WWE Champion asserted that’s exactly what the top dollar players do. Reigns even told Punk to go ask his wife, as she’s been on it too. ‘The OTC’ eventually asked ‘The Best in the World’ to stop wasting his time until he had something new to say.

Reigns got held back by Punk once again when he tried exiting the ring. ‘The Second City Saint’ regurgitated that he’s under Reigns’ skin and it’s palpable. He asked Reigns to stare at that WrestleMania sign one more time, as it’s going to be his last main event.

Punk then described how he’s going to put Reigns to sleep once that bell rings. ‘The OTC’ admitted that it’s a well-known fact that Punk has always been good on the mic. However, he couldn’t match Reigns inside that ring.

At last, ‘The OTC’ said the world title around Punk’s waist was an embarrassment, as Punk’s barely a try-hard who’s just old. It caused the ‘Second City Saint’ to snap, and he grounded Reigns with a punch to his forehead.

To prevent the situation from escalating, Adam Pearce and other WWE officials escorted a red-faced Punk while Reigns was all smiles, knowing he’d seemingly cracked what made CM Punk uncomfortable—his mortality.

Randy Orton refused Michael Cole interview after speaking to someone over the phone on Raw

Just a few days removed from that vicious beatdown of Cody Rhodes by Randy Orton on SmackDown last Friday, ‘The Viper’ was originally slated to be interviewed by Michael Cole on Raw. After joining the broadcast via a blurry feed, Orton asked Cole to hold on as he was on a phone call with someone.

The 14-time world champion said he was checking on them who saw what he did to Rhodes and that he’ll see them soon. After hanging up, the ‘Apex Predator’ told Cole that he had changed his mind about lending an interview. In fact, he revealed that everyone’s been recklessly asking him about his actions on SmackDown.

But the conversation he just had on the phone was so profound that it made him realize who he truly was and gave him the closure he needed to understand why he dismantled one of his closest friends in this business. Orton left after stealing that line from Rhodes, which said, “Wrestling has more than one royal family.”

‘The Legend Killer’ has updated his profile picture on X, and it now shows Orton having the WWE title around his waist. He also changed the lettering on his “RKO Everybody” T-shirt to “RKO CODY” with blood smeared over the text. Orton has doubled down on his villainous arc and it’d make for compelling television on SmackDown in the weeks to come.
