‘Soulman’ Rocky Johnson, father of the megastar Dwayne Johnson, has been one of the pioneers of the wrestling industry. His early success and hard work brought him a lot of fame and achievements which was followed by him becoming the first ever Afro-American Tag Team Champion. The ‘Soulman’ is also a WWE Hall of Famer who was inducted into the Class by his son, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

WWE recently celebrated the Black History month on an episode of SmackDown and commemorated the absolute Trailblazing star, WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson. Dwayne, who narrated the whole commemoration, also took to Twitter and thanked his dad for all the success he had. Here’s what he said:

“This one makes me emotional, but man I’m smiling with goosebumps of gratitude, mana and pride. My dad, Rocky “Soulman” Johnson was a trailblazer and became the first black @wwe tag team champions w/Tony Atlas. Thank you dad. I will forever be proud of who and what I am. I love u.” – Johnson wrote on Twitter

Johnson lost his father in early 2020 which the star quoted as the biggest loss in his life. The megastar sat with Oprah Winfrey to talk about his relationship with his father who was a former wrestler with in-ring name Rocky Johnson. The Hollywood megastar spoke about the night his father died and said he was moved and grateful to have a new relationship with his father. Here’s what he said:

“The day he died, that night I went to bed, I felt so grateful and moved. Because I realised, ‘Oh wow, I have a new relationship with you. Clean slate. No regrets. No pain. No complications. Just me and you.’” Standard.co.uk
