“You aren’t the Ronda Rousey of WWE”: Former Champion hits back at Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair

The Baddest Woman on the Planet

Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair are gearing up for what could be one of the biggest matches of their professional wrestling careers. The two Superstars have been at loggerheads since Rousey made her surprise return to WWE at Royal Rumble. They will be colliding for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 38.

This rivalry between the Queen and the Baddest Woman on the Planet, has easily been one of the hottest feuds in the company today. They have taunted each other in several hard-hitting promos and if the words weren’t enough, they have even brawled on several occasions. This week was no different.

Ronda Rousey walked out to the ring and announced that she will not be taking the title from Charlotte Flair! But Flair herself will present the title to her, after tapping out. She even called out the current Champion to the ring, but unfortunately, Charlotte Flair was not present in the arena. She appeared on the latest episode of the Blue brand virtually.

While on-screen their feud has been really hot, behind the scenes, both the Superstars have immense respect for one another. In a recent interview with Hot 97, the Smackdown Women’s Champion had even compared the two of them. “I have nothing but respect for her…Had there not been a Ronda Rousey, I don’t think there would have been a women’s revolution. I like to say that I’m the Ronda of WWE and she is the Charlotte Flair of MMA,” Flair had mentioned.

But on the latest episode of Smackdown, Rousey came out squash all such claims. She mentioned that Flair is not the Rousey of WWE! She went as far as claiming that while a win for Flair at Mania, would be her career’s biggest win, a win for Rousey would be just another win!

Ronda Rousey will be in action on Wrestlemania Saturday

We are now just a week away from WWE’s biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania 38. When Ronda Rousey won the Women’s Royal Rumble match, she ensured that she will be main-eventing the event. The initial plans were to have the Smackdown Women’s Championship match in the main event of Wrestlemania Saturday.

But there have been some reports which suggest that this might not be the case anymore. WWE is planning to close the show on Saturday with “The KO Show” involving Kevin Owens and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. This could mean that Flair vs Rousey could be moved down the card. While it won’t be the main event, it could well be the final match of the night, considering “The KO Show” would be a talk-show segment.
