1. Roman Reigns is undefeated at Fastlane with a record of 5-0
Roman Reigns is the top superstar in WWE as of now. His dominance has been at its peak for the last three years. However, Fastlane is the place where the dominance of the Tribal Chief goes to infinity and beyond. He is undefeated at the stage of the PLE.
The Head of Table is 5 wins and no losses at Fastlane. Roman Reigns defeated some of the biggest names in business at the event. It includes the likes of Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Brock Lesnar, and Braun Strowman.
2. Fastlane 2023 is the first Fastlane event after 2018 to not feature Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns holds the undefeated record at the Fastlane. He is a top name to be featured in the show. However, Fastlane 2023 is the first event to not feature the tribal chief since 2018. Except for 2023, Fastlane 2018 is the only event in PLE history to not feature Roman Reigns.
This year, the show has no possibility of featuring the Undisputed Universal Champion. However, the event will feature Roman Reigns’ Bloodline battling John Cena and LA Knight.
3. For the first time it is not taking place on the Road to WrestleMania
Fastlane got its name from its place in the PLE calendar at WWE. The show originally used to take place in February as a stop on the Road to WrestleMania. Fastlane worked as a filler between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. Therefore, it got its tagline, “Get in the Fastlane on the Road to WrestleMania!”
However, this year will mark the first time Fastlane has not taken place before WrestleMania. This year, the show is taking place in October for the first time since its inception.
4. Taking place after 2 years of hiatus
Fastlane was a consecutive event from 2015 to 2019. However, after 2019, the show saw an absence from the PLE calendar for 2020. Then Fastlane returned in 2021 after going one more year off in 2022. Now, the show is back once again after a hiatus of almost two years.
It can be figured out that WWE might be following a special pattern for the event. It is taking place every alternate year after 2019. Nonetheless, It will be interesting to see if WWE follows the same pattern in the future as well.
5. Shortest match was for the Universal Championship in 2017
Fastlane has delivered some of the highest-stakes matches in WWE. The stakes cannot be higher than a world title on the line. In 2017, Kevin Owens defended his Universal Championship against Goldberg. The lackluster feud received a squash match when Goldberg defeated Kevin Owens in 0:21 seconds and captured the gold.
Although Chris Jericho played an important role in the ending of the match, The longest match taking place at the event was the 2018 Six-Pack Challenge match for the WWE Championship between AJ Styles, John Cena, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, and Baron Corbin, which lasted 21 minutes and 55 seconds.
