WWE does seem to be in a panic mode regarding WrestleMania 42 at the moment. The company has lowered the ticket prices by a fairly substantial margin across both nights. In an update posted by WrestleTix, the cheapest ticket available on Saturday is now being sold for $177, which is down from its high of $228.35.

Moreover, the company has been able to sell over 37,500 tickets for night one thus far. Meanwhile, if one looks at the figures for Sunday, close to 38,500 tickets have been sold, and the lowest price at which a ticket can be bought for night two of WrestleMania 42 has come down to $177 from $254. Although the fans on social media are delighted with the move, they’re still waiting for the prices to drop even further.

They believe it’s inevitable, considering WWE is way shy of selling out its biggest event of the year. Some fans are also steadfast on their theory of the repeat business in Las Vegas hurting WWE this year. The Stamford-based promotion has already enforced a ban on watch-along parties in the area around the Allegiant Stadium in an attempt to turn the partygoers into paying customers.

This move triggered outrage among local businesses and hotels, as blacking out watch parties entails curbing tourism in the city that paid a hefty site fee to WWE for securing the rights to hosting WrestleMania for a second year on the trot. Speaking of the main events this year, Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE title against his longtime friend-cum-mentor Randy Orton. It’s likely to go on last on Saturday.

On the other hand, CM Punk will put the World Heavyweight title on the line against Roman Reigns, which is heavily expected to headline the show on Sunday. These are two of those big-time money matches on paper that are enough to sell the intrigue of a WrestleMania. It’ll be interesting to see what impact they’ll have on ramping up the ticket sales for the two-night wrestling spectacle in Vegas.

Internal frustration regarding WrestleMania 42 theme and update on stipulation matches

There’s some frustration behind the scenes in WWE when it comes to the theme of this year’s WrestleMania, as per WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select. The fans have noticed that the company is coming up with multiple graphics for promoting the match card.

The fuss around its promotional theme has caused a sense of confusion in the concerned department, as it’s still unsure about the visual presentation of WrestleMania 42 stemming from the lack of a clear indication from the company’s top brass. The original plan was intended to give a high-end and classy vibe to the event, which was evident by initial posters.

However, due to the creative vision failing to solidify even this close to the actual show, the graphics just keep on changing. In another excerpt from the aforementioned report, WWE is considering adding stipulations to some of the marquee matches on the WrestleMania card in a strategic move.

The opening matches across both nights are expected to feature an eye-catching match type to attract potential subscribers while they see the action unfold on ESPN channels, with the first hour airing live for free. The casual viewers are being targeted by WWE in a move to convert them into paid subscribers through the ESPN preview windows on traditional TV.

WWE is also leveraging celebrity involvement at WrestleMania to boost its ticket sales and overall viewership. Singer-rapper Jelly Roll has been talked about to make an appearance at the Grandest Stage of Them All. He will join Miz TV on this week’s SmackDown in Phoenix. It might give fans an indication of his planned direction for WrestleMania.
