It has been over two weeks since the NBA free agency began, and the biggest name in it is LeBron James. While several free agents have been signed to their new clubs in the last few weeks, James’ future remains up in the air, and he continues to stay mum about it.

Over 10 clubs have contacted James’ camp since he became an unrestricted free agent. This is the first time he has decided to test free agency in eight years, when he signed for the Los Angeles Lakers.

WWE superstar The Miz made a pitch to James and suggested that his best move would be to return to Cleveland.

I said why, why do you, Charles Barkley, say go to Cleveland? He said, ‘it’s the only play otherwise you’re chasing Michael Jordan. So to LeBron James out there, come home to Cleveland. Bring us a championship, please. Because you did it 10 years ago. We saw you guys go out and do a vacation like no other. I wanna see you do a vacation 10 years from now about the championship you win this year.

The Miz is native to Ohio and is a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their most successful period as a franchise came during James’s two stints with the franchise.

In his first stint from 2003-2010, he brought relevancy to the franchise by leading them to the NBA Finals in 2007. After moving to the Miami Heat for four years, James returned to the Cavs as a two-time champion. He changed the franchise’s fortunes both on and off the court.

The King played for four seasons in his second stint and took them to the NBA Finals in all four years. However, the biggest achievement of his career came in 2016 when he delivered the club’s first and lone championship. It was an iconic moment that redefined his legacy. Hence, it is not surprising to see The Miz trying to convince James to return to his hometown.

Fans react to The Miz appealing to LeBron James to make his return to the Cavs

There is no doubt that James is the greatest player to ever play for the Cavs. Since his departure as a free agent in 2018, they have struggled to deliver any meaningful results. Their best season came this year when they reached the Eastern Conference Finals.

After The Miz made his pitch to James, fans took to social media to react to it.

The Cavs have been open in trying to sign James. Fans are excited to see the four-time champion return to the Cavs for the second time. It would be a fitting end to an illustrious career.

LeBron James is the Cavs’ “first priority”

LeBron James can move the needle for any team he plays for. He may not be the main man as he once was, but he has shown that he can still contribute at a high level when it matters. His agent, Rich Paul, revealed that his camp has done an in-depth study to help James choose his next club.

NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the Cavs are focused on signing James as their first priority.

And yes that includes the pursuit of LeBron James and I’m told behind has made it clear that he would embrace LeBron coming to the Cavaliers and joining him in Cleveland… So LeBron is the first priority for the Cavaliers and Donovan Mitchell is fully on board with that and upgrading the Cavs roster overall after they made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Cavs signed their star player Donovan Mitchell on a four-year extension. With Mitchell’s future secured, it will be interesting to see whether that lures James to the Cavs in the offseason.
