Former WWE Superstar Paige provides health update
Paige
WWE Superstar Paige’s WWE career came to a screeching halt in 2017, when she sustained a serious neck-injury during a WWE house show. The impact from a kick by Sasha Banks, during a six-woman tag team match aggravated an injury which Paige had earlier suffered.
In October 2016, Paige had undergone a neck surgery and took almost a year to get cleared for in-ring action. She returned to WWE Raw in November 2017 as a Heel character, leading Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville – who were debuting on the main roster. They were involved in a feud against Sasha Banks, Bayley and Mickie James.
It was during one of the dark matches for this feud when WWE Superstar Paige aggravated her neck injury. But she recently put out a tweet announcing that her neck is getting better and hinted that somewhere down the line, we may see her return to the ring.
After sustaining the injury, Paige continued to make appearances on WWE TV for the feud, but did not perform inside the ring. It was in April 2018 that Paige officially announced her retirement from in-ring competition.
Former WWE Superstar Paige continued to appear on WWE
Despite announcing her retirement from in-ring action, Paige continued to appear on WWE TV. In fact, the very next day, since announcing her retirement, she was made the Smackdown general manager. She held the on-screen position for nearly an year, post which she got busy with the promotions of her movie, Fighting with My Family.
Paige continued to make guest appearances on WWE, before becoming a guest in WWE Backstage. While it may still be too early to believe that she will be returning to the squared ring, but her improving condition is a positive sign for sure.
